Israeli MK Denied Visa to Enter U.S.

Laura: While actual jihad terrorists are given visas to enter the United States, an elected member of Israel’s parliament has been denied a visa for entry into the U.S. on the grounds that he is a “terrorist”. His “crime” is his support of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane. Its within acceptable discourse to advocate for the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Judea and Samaria and parts of Jerusalem, but its considered “terrorism” to merely be a follower of the man who advocated for transporting the Arab-muslims living there based on their unwillingness to live in peace with Jews. This just adds to the long list of Obama treacheries against the Jewish state.

OUTRAGE! Obama Denies Visa to Israel Parliament Member; Israeli Legislative Trip to US Canceled

By Debbie Schlussel

Michael Ben-Ari is an elected Member of the Knesset, Israel’s parliament. But the Obama adminstration is denying him a visa to the United States. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and their minions are calling this man a “terrorist,” even though he’s never been a member of a terrorist group and never participated in a terrorist attack. Instead, he’s a respected elected official in Israel, who commands the respect of members of all parties along the ideological divide. And, yet, this is the second time (2009 was the first) that Dr. Ben-Ari has been denied entry here.

Gallup: Republicans more sympathetic to Israel than Democrats Edit Link

B Neil Snyder, AMERICAN THINKER

A Republican Jewish Coalition news release on Friday included some revealing information:

Washington, D.C. (March 16, 2012) — The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) today released an analysis of support for Israel broken down by political affiliation that reveals a clear “Israel Gap” between the parties. Republican support for Israel is 25 points higher than Democratic support, and according to Gallup, only a bare majority, 53% of Democrats, express sympathy with Israel.

“Democrats are suffering from an ‘Israel Gap’ and it’s gotten worse under President Obama,” said Matthew Brooks, RJC executive director.

Vetting Obama

by LaDonna Hale Curzon

Obama as a young radical.

At what might have been Andrew Breitbart’s last public speech, he said, “Barack Obama is a radical and we should not be afraid to say that,” as he promised CPAC attendees that he would do what the lamestream media has refused to do, vet the 44th President of the United States.

In an effort to continue the Obama vetting process ignited by Breitbart, Sarah Palin Radio is on record saying: “Obama is a radical and we’re not not afraid to help prove it.”

Israel’s Legal Case Presented To Congress

Settlements are legal.

Recently, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) sponsored a lecture by Professor Eugene Kontorovich to Congressional staff aides in the Cannon House Office building on Capitol Hill. The lecture was titled “One State, 2 States, 3 States- 4?” Mr. Kontorovich is a Professor of Law at the Northwestern University School of Law, and is currently a member of the renowned Institute for Advanced Study, in the School of Social Sciences, in Princeton, NJ. The talk centered on the efforts of Palestinian Arabs to defeat Israel in international forums and gain legitimacy at Israel’s expense.

Professor Kontorovich, who is an expert in International Law and is currently writing a book on maritime piracy, pointed out that the Palestinian Arabs are complaining about Israeli “occupation” at the very same time that they claim the sovereign privileges of a state. To be a state, they must, of course, have a territory that they control.

Syrian Armed Forces Desertion Said to Surge to 60,000

By Emre Peker and Donna Abu-Nasr – Bloomberg

Desertions by members of Syria’s armed forces have swollen to about 60,000 as growing numbers of troops refuse to join the crackdown on protests by President Bashar al-Assad’s government, according to a Turkish Foreign Ministry official.

About 20,000 service personnel have left in less than a month, said the official, who cited Turkish intelligence reports and spoke on condition of anonymity in accordance with government rules. The desertions are in addition to 40,000 military personnel who left before Feb. 20, the official said. Turkey’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Selcuk Unal yesterday said a seventh Syrian general has defected and is now in Turkey.

Disputing Dershowitz

By MARTIN SHERMAN, JPOST

Support for a two-state solution has sown the seeds for the international delegitimization of Israel. It would be obnoxious for there to be a conference here on the subject of whether the Palestinians are a real people. They are, and so are the Israelis. The quest for a Palestinian state is a legitimate one, as is the need to preserve Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people. –
Alan Dershowitz, “Should Harvard Sponsor a One- Sided Conference Seeking the End of Israel?” (February 28)

Prof. Alan Dershowitz is a committed, articulate supporter of Israel. He has defended the Jewish state with eloquence and passion on numerous occasions, displaying commendable resolve and poise despite torrents of hostile reaction. The courageous, principled stance he has taken – regrettably rare among academics of his standing – should be greatly appreciated by Israelis across the political spectrum.

Ensnared by political correctness
However, in embracing several central precepts of politically correct but factually impaired conventional wisdom,
Dershowitz has, along with many other well-meaning pro-Israeli figures, severely undermined the efficacy of his “Case for Israel.”

Israel’s ultimatum: Stop the missiles by Saturday night.

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report March 16, 2

After five days of non-stop missile fire on a dozen towns and villages, Israel Thursday night, March 15, gave Egypt and Hamas two days to halt the shooting or else the Israeli Defense Forces would go into action against Gaza. DEBKAfile’s military sources report that neither Egypt nor Hamas can be expected to go up against the missile shooters now. The attacks have now been taken over from Jihad Islami by a small group of Salafi Palestinians calling itself Haraka Muhaheddin, which belongs to Jalalat, the al Qaeda roof organization in the Gaza Strip.

Most of the missiles are now coming from the Salafi concentrations in the southern part of the enclave –targeting Beersheba and Netivot Thursday morning and as night fell aimed at Ashdod, Ashkelon, Shear Hanegev and the Eshkol region. The firing escalated after Israel laid down its ultimatum

Destroy the terrorists and their rockets in Gaza

I agree with everything these authors have written with one exception. They assume the IDF will withdraw when the goal is achieved and that the weapons build up will start again. I suggest that the IDF must retain control of the Philidelphi Corridor indefinitely to stop smuggling. Ted Belman

Prof. Efraim Inbar and Dr. Max Singer..
BESA Center Perspectives Paper No. 167..

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Israel has to respond to the attacks from Gaza with a large-scale military operation. If no such action is taken, the attacks against Israel will surely increase. Gaza is small enough so that Israel can destroy most of the terrorist infrastructure and the leadership of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other organizations. The goal would be to restore deterrence and to signal Israeli determination to battle the rising Islamist forces in the region. By acting now in Gaza, Israel will also greatly reduce the missile retaliation it would face if and when it strikes Iran’s nuclear facilities. Political conditions seem appropriate as Hamas is divided, most of the Arab world is busy with pressing domestic issues, and the US is in the middle of an election campaign.

Egypt is a Volcano, The West Snoozes, But Israel Won’t Play the Role of Pompeii

Barry Rubin..pjmedia.com..

Reality: Those who are, or will soon be, governing Egypt view themselves as being at war with Israel for all practical purposes. It matters relatively little that there is still a peace treaty. In Cairo, there are no thoughts of peace.

This is the second biggest disaster of the “Arab Spring.” The same applies to the Egyptian government’s attitude to the United States. That is the biggest disaster.

It is a disaster that U.S. policymakers and journalists have not even begun to recognize, much less counter.

Here’s the latest example. The Egyptian parliament voted unanimously to demand the expulsion of Israel’s ambassador and the halt of all natural gas exports to Israel. Isn’t going to happen? Well, not this month. Of course, the military junta is still in control, but it won’t be by the end of June. And then the deluge begins.

No Peace, No Peace Plans, No Price for Peace

A Short Guide for Those Obsessed with Peace

Prof. Moshe Sharon. Nativ Online/Vol. 11..
January 2008/Shvat 5768

On December 25, 1977, at the very beginning of the negotiations between Israel and Egypt in Ismailia, I had the opportunity to have a short discussion with Muhammad Anwar Sadat the president of Egypt. “Tell your Prime Minister,” he said, “that this is a bazaar; the merchandize is expensive.” I told my Prime Minister but he failed to abide by the rules of the bazaar. The failure was not unique to him alone. It is the failure of all the Israeli governments and the media.

On March 4, 1994, I published an article in The Jerusalem Post called “Novices in Negotiations”. The occasion was the conclusion of the “Cairo Agreement”. A short time later, Yasser Arafat, proved yet again that his signature was not worth the ink of his pen let alone the paper to which it was attached, and his word was worth even less. Then, as in every subsequent agreement Israel was taken aback when her concessions had become the basis for fresh Arab demands.

Jordan is shaky

These protests are from a 1/4 of the population which is Bedouin. So far the Palestinians, who are the worst off are quiet and biding their time.Just last week discussions took place between some Beduoin leads and some Palestinian leaders and a tentative agreement was discussed for a proposed end result. Ted Belman

MEMRI

In recent weeks, Jordanian oppositionists have sharpened their criticism of King ‘Abdallah II to the point of questioning his legitimacy as the country’s ruler. There have been calls to oust the “occupier” (i.e., the king), and threats of an imminent “explosion” or an armed revolution should the situation in the country remain unchanged. These threats, unprecedented in Jordan, were voiced by oppositionist and retired military veteran Dr. Ahmad ‘Oweidi Al-’Abbadi, a former MP and the current head of the Jordan National Movement (JNM), who called for Jordan to be freed from the Hashemite “occupation” and to become a republic. These statements led to his arrest on charges of “inciting to topple the regime.” His stance was supported by JNM members, by other retired military veterans, and by some members of the Al-’Abbad tribe, to which he belongs. Following the arrest, his backers organized a rally in his support and called to topple the regime. He was eventually released on bail on March 1, 2012.

Among those who spoke out in support of Al-’Abbadi was oppositionist Laith Shubeilat, who also visited him in prison. He stated that the king was the main source of the growing corruption in the country, and even urged the king to apologize to the Jordanian people and to agree to curtail his authority, threatening that if he did not, Jordan could soon expect an explosion and the anarchy of a revolution.

Saudi Grand Mufti Calls for “Destruction of All Churches in Region” Edit Link

by Raymond Ibrahim, Jihad Watch

According to several Arabic news sources, last Monday, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, declared that it is “necessary to destroy all the churches of the region.”

The Grand Mufti made his assertion in response to a question posed by a delegation from Kuwait: a Kuwaiti parliament member recently called for the “removal” of churches (he later “clarified” by saying he merely meant that no churches should be built in Kuwait), and the delegation wanted to confirm Sharia’s position on churches.

Accordingly, the Grand Mufti “stressed that Kuwait was a part of the Arabian Peninsula, and therefore it is necessary to destroy all churches in it.”
