The gay marriage law is not an EU ruse.
We started this long road to utter stupidity before we were even a member of the EU.

Just like HS2, just like the 80mph speed limit,
the gay marriage law is an EU law that will soon apply across the EU.
So Cameron has taken the 'left' road, and rather than admit the EU is forcing this on us, is pretending it is all his idea.
That is why the very inconvenient timing, and why it happened at all.
