PREZZA TORY ATTACK! Did anyone catch Jabba the Hut ringer John Prescott on Newsnight just now? Kirsty Wark allowed the buffoon a full five minutes rant as he made the most outrageous claims concerning what he alleged was the Tory Policy Exchange Report. This was a set piece by Newsnight to provide Labour with the opportunity to suggest the Tories hate the North, pure and simple. Kirsty did not interrupt Prezza. There has been no attempt made to study the substance of this report and Cameron had to distance himself at a million miles an hour lest real damage was done. It demonstrates once more how treacherous and biased the BBC really is. True colours.Labels: pro Labour bias

Weight coverage not broad enough...This concerns one of the most mind-numbing BBC coverage areas of recent times: the fat issue. The BBC just loves an opportunity to wax on about swollen numbers of fatties. The mass of stories are contradictory, tendentious, and depressing. There are stories like this from the deterministic point of view- and stories like this from the social conditioning point of view. All the time the BBC infuriatingly racking their brains about how to rid themselves of the offending fatties, without ever considering that eating and lifestyle need balancing.
And then a completely different sort of story comes along. A heartwarming story (heart-burning story?) of an eater that would have made my Grandmother proud who also happens to be a world-beating athlete. What's that I hear from the BBC? A chirping of crickets? A blanket of absent coverage?Labels: BBC selectivity, food, Nanny State

RUSSIAN MANIPULATION. I have to say how sickened I was with the BBC's Ten O Clock news coverage of the situation in Georgia. Rarely have I saw such blatant pro-Russia propaganda, gleefully broadcast by the BBC. Did you see it? The BBC exhibits a pride in Russian military prowess that it never could in our British forces. Revolting stuff.Labels: pro-Russian

ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE....Following up this morning's faux economic good news on the Today programme, (Broadcast just before a record jump in inflation was announced) on PM Eddie Mair produced a former editor of the Economist - Bill Emmett - who declares "Crisis what crisis?" Emmett intoned that economic conditions are mild, that inflation is on the way down, food prices are falling and property prices are going to rise again, - marvelous stuff. He also added that no matter how bad things are, things were much worse in the 1980's - when those bad conservatives were in power! PM - doing the great Leader's bidding everyday.Labels: save Labour

RUSSIA 1 GEORGIA O. Listened to PM. Big mistake. Grim programme. Eddie Mair's take can be summed up simply. 1. Russia won. 2. Georgia had it coming 3. The US could do nothing.Labels: pro-Russian

ASHAMED TO BE BRITISH? I noticed that the "You and Yours" programme on Radio 4 at noon is running a trailer which asks "Are you ashamed to be British?" It asks if Brits deserve their bad reputation when travelling abroad. Wonder if this includes BBC journalists convicted of possessing illegal drugs? Great to see the BBC doing their best to put the great into Britain.Labels: anti British

BRING ME SUNSHINE. Despite all the apparent economic gloom, I am sure you will have been pleased to listen to the upbeat economic assessment provided by Hugh Pym and the gang on the Today programme this morning just before 8am. It seems everything is coming up roses and excuses were generously offered up for the Great Leader - we were even told directly that the government "could not be blamed" for several of the factors afflicting our economy. Funny thing is, during the boom years, I can't recall the BBC informing us that growth "could not be blamed" on Prudence - can you? The BBC seems determined to make us think that the sun is going to shine again and that the dear leader will benefit from these happier times. Now back to the Olympics and the big question - Sharon Davies - can you really get enough in-depth interviews from her?Labels: save gordon
