Lin Hao, a nine-year-old Chinese boy who survived the earthquake in May that claimed over 70,000 lives--and actually helped to rescue two of his classmates--marched side by side in the Olympic Parade of Nations with Yao Ming, the US (Houston Rockets) basketball star.

Crooked Afghan Clown Attends Olympics

While Afghanistan's president watched, his backward country's Olympic team marched in the Olympic stadium. The soon-to-be-overthrown, corrupt clown is insensitive to the fact that his country's only female Olympic athlete was forced to flee amid death threats.

Nineteen-year-old Mahbooba Ahadyar was due to become the first Afghan woman ever to compete in the Olympic 800 meter and 1,500 meter races.

But on July 4, unbeknown to her coach, Ahadyar snuck away from an Olympic training center in Formia, Italy, taking her passport and her luggage with her.

Ahadyar’s coach, Shahpoor Amiri, said Ahadyar told him she does not want to return to Afghanistan and did not specify where she had gone.

DRC Denies Olympic Team Matching Shoes

Dateline Beijing....

The so-called Democratic Republic of Congo refused to provide its Olympic athletes with nominal subsidies for ... shoes ... for the Parade of Nations in the opening Olympic Games ceremonies. 

The impoverished athletes were forced to humiliate themselves and march with mismatched shoes and sneakers.

How sad.

Olympics Open with Terrifying, Totalitarian Display

As if to feed every foreign fear and fantasy, Rising China opened the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with a repulsive, dehumanizing demonstration of totalitarian power and control. It was deliberate--a calculated warning to Japan and the United States--and to the assembled world leaders--that China is destined to dominate the world.

The ruling (Stalinist) Communist Party followed the opening Hitlerian act with a creepy interplay of smiling children and goose-stepping soldiers, signifying the role of the People's Liberation Army (which really runs China) in guaranteeing all-important national security and stability. 

The martial tribute to China's maritime history ... in light of Beijing's opaque and unprecedented naval buildup ... was a clear warning to the US to stay out of the region.

Stay tuned. The West is in deeper trouble than anyone (outside of China and the Islamist world) could have imagined just a few years ago. Not for nothing is China modernizing and expanding its military and amassing arsenals of missiles opposite democratic Taiwan. 

EXCLUSIVE: China Confidential has learned that NBC was extremely nervous about the opening display. Hence, the pathetic commentary and paid propaganda by the network's "China analyst," Joshua Cooper Ramo, which was aimed at appeasing the regime....
