Russia Spits In The Face Of The West, Intends To Supply Iran With S-300 Air Defense System
Russia's threat to supply the sophisticated S-300 air defense system to Iran, if Washington pushes through Nato membership for Georgia and Ukraine, is causing great alarm in Israel and the United States. 08/31/08
 A seven-year old boy in Kandal province of Cambodia has a rather unusual best friend. Kuon Samnang has been spending time with his 4.8 metre long pet reptile since he was born. They are the same age and have hardly been separated in their whole lives. Samnang spends his days playing with Chomran, hugging the snake and trying to teach it tricks. 08/31/08  Egypt opened its sealed Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip on Saturday as a goodwill gesture for the holy month of Ramadan , allowing hundreds of people to enter and leave the coastal territory. Over the two day period the crossing will remain open, Egypt will allow Palestinian students enrolled in universities abroad to leave Gaza, along with those with foreign residencies and work visas. 08/31/08  Over 100 jigsaw puzzle lovers participated on Thursday in the 10th Israeli jigsaw puzzle championship in Tel Aviv. The puzzle competition brought together Israelis from all parts of society - Arabs as well as religious Jews, children and elderly for two days of intense competition. The largest puzzle in the world was also unveiled. 08/31/08  According to the former bureau chief of late Syrian leader Hafez al-Assad, the location of the remains of Eli Cohen, the famous Israeli spy who was executed by the Syrian government in 1965, is not known by any living Syrian official. Eli Cohen operated in Syria on behalf of the Mossad before being captured and executed, during his service he became a close associate of many senior Syrian officials and was even a candidate for the position of Syrian deputy defense minister. 08/31/08
 Another World War will erupt if Israel or the United States attacks Iran, the Islamic Republic’s deputy Chief of Staff General Masoud Jazayeri warned Saturday. “Any aggression against Iran will start a world war,”Jazayeri was quoted as saying to the IRNA state news agency. Global Zionism and America’s unrestrained greed he said is leading the world towards a dangerous precipice. "It is evident that if such a challenge occurs, the fake and artificial regimes will be eliminated before anything," he said. 08/30/08  Two Israeli Arabs suspected of setting up an Islamic Jihad cell near Ramallah and plotted to assassinate air force pilots and scientists were arrested this month by the Shin Bet along with three Palestinians. Details released for publication on Thursday revealed that Anis Zfori,a twenty year old student of the Birzeit University near Ramallag and Hussam Halili, a 19 year old who studies in Jordan both come from the western Galilee town of Shfaram. 08/29/08  Scientists in Israel are taking digital photographs of thousands of fragments of the Dead Sea scrolls with the aim of making the 2,000-year-old documents available to the public and researchers on the Internet. Israel’s Antiquities Authority, the custodian of the scrolls that shed light on the life of Jews and early Christians at the time of Jesus, said on Wednesday it would take more than two years to complete the project coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the ancient writings. 08/28/08  Today IDF soldier Gilad Schalit will spend his third birthday in captivity in Gaza.
