An absolutely essential read
Whatever you do, please read this outstanding post by blogger "Bishop Hill". It explains in layman's terms the argument that has been raging about the famous climate change "hockey stick" graph and how it came to be included in the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report - and why it should not have been.

It details the actions of two publicly funded scientists who knew what they wanted their findings to be and manipulated statistics accordingly to achieve those findings. Worst of all, despite knowing what had been done in this crude attempt to validate the "hockey stick", we learn how the IPCC broke its own rules to ensure the findings could be unjustly and incorrectly included in their assessment report.

For those who thought the climate change argument was over and wonder why there is a growing body of people who reject the climate change "models" and "projections" endorsed by the IPCC, Bishop Hill's posting will go some way to revealing the reasons for the scepticism.
