At the 2008 Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham a key question will be whether or not a future Conservative Government will be able and will have the will to roll-back the decades of surrendering our sovereignty to Brussels; or will it settle to be just in office but not in power?

SIMON HEFFER
Simon Heffer is a well known broadcaster and columnist with The Daily Telegraph where he is also Associate Editor. Formerly, he was the Deputy Editor of The Spectator and also wrote for The Daily Mail. He is known and respected for his cogent views on the EU, political correctness and the Conservative Party.
Simon Heffer’s publications include Like the Roman: the life of Enoch Powell and Nor Shall my Sword: the reinvention of England.
NIGEL FARAGE MEP
Nigel Farage is the Leader of the UK Independence Party and is also an MEP for the South East. He was a Commodity Broker in the City and ran his own brokerage firm. Nigel was active in the Conservative Party until the overthrow of Margaret Thatcher.
Nigel is a member of the Bruges Group and is also the author of the Bruges Group paper Democracy in Crisis.
DANIEL HANNAN MEP
Daniel Hannan is a Conservative MEP for South East England. He is a writer for The Telegraph and the German newspaper Die Welt. He sits on the European Parliament’s Constitutional Affairs Committee.
His publications include A Treaty Too Far, The Euro: Bad for Business and What if Britain votes No? He has been a member of the Bruges Group since 1991. He is also the author of the Bruges Group paper The Case for EFTA.
ROGER HELMER MEP
Roger Helmer is a Conservative MEP for the East Midlands. Prior to entering the European Parliament Roger was an international businessman. Roger is the author of two books on European issues, Straight Talking on Europe and A Declaration of Independence.

ANDREW ROBERTS
Andrew Roberts is a historian and broadcaster. As well as appearing regularly on British television and radio, Roberts writes for The Sunday Telegraph as well as The Spectator, Literary Review, Mail on Sunday and The Daily Telegraph.
He is the author of a number of definitive histories including A History of the English-Speaking Peoples Since 1900 which was presented and discussed at a Bruges Group meeting. Roberts’ latest book examines the Creation of Anglo-American Grand Strategy 1941-45. Copies will be available at the meeting.
Andrew Roberts is also a member of the Bruges Group’s Academic Advisory Council.
Dr IRWIN STELZER
Irwin Stelzer is a Senior Fellow and Director of the influential American think tank the Hudson Institute. He is also an economic and political commentator for The Daily Telegraph. He is also a columnist for the New York Post.
Irwin Stelzer has written and lectured on economic and policy developments in the United States and Britain. He has written extensively on policy issues such as America’s competitive position in the world economy, optimum regulatory policies, the consequences of European integration, and factors affecting and impeding economic growth. He is the author of The United States, a United Europe and the United Kingdom: Three Characters in Search of a Policy.
