Iran Strengthening Ties to Boliva
Foreign Confidential....
Is Washington asleep at the switch? Is the Monroe Doctrine dead? Apparently, it died decades ago.
While resurgent Russia is reasserting its claim to its traditional sphere of influence--Moscow's so-callednear abroad--nuclear-arming, Islamist Iran is boldly intervening in America's backyard. Promising to raise its profile in Latin America, Iran has reached out to leftist governments in Bolivia, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Analysts fear Iran could use the ties to smuggle terrorists--and weapons of mass destruction--into the United States.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a fanatic foe of the US, is credited with starting the Latin-Iranian alliance.
Bolivian President Evo Morales is strengthening it. He arrived in Tehran Monday for a two-day trip--a follow-up to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Bolivia last year, during which he pledged $1.1 billion in aid to the Andean nation.
Mahmoud Welcomed Evo to Tehran
Welcoming Morales to Iran, Ahmadinejad praised "the resistance of the Bolivian people'' against the US.
Morales hailed Iran's "anti-imperialist'' stance.
"The two revolutionary nations and the governments of Iran and Bolivia are natural allies and will boost their relations in the fields of commerce, industry, agriculture, gas, oil and politics," the Iranian maniac-in-chief said.
Morales said he supported Ahmadinejad's stance against "imperialism" and for "defending the rights of the Iranian people."
A Tyrant's Praise
Iran's Supreme (clerical fascist) Leader Ali Khamenei said during his meeting with Morales that "assertion of rights by the people of Latin America has displeased the West."
"The awakening of the South American nations who are seeking their rights is an auspicious event which certainly will not make [big] powers happy," the turbaned tyrant declared.
Morales arrived in Tehran after completing a brief visit to Libya.
Bolivia has the largest gas reserves in Latin America. Iran is trying to develop the Bolivian gas industry.
Iran regards Bolivia as part of an anti-US revolutionary bloc in Latin America that includes Cuba, Nicaragua, Paraguay and energy-rich Venezuela.
In the last three years, Ahmadinejad has made four visits to Latin America, and Hugo Chavez has visited Tehran six times.Muslim Mob Decapitates Christian Girl in Angola
Foreign Confidential....
Muslim extremists are becoming a serious problem in Angola. But the Angolan government is reluctant to take action because of rising Islamic--and Islamist--influence in the African nation.
In an especially horrific recent incident, a Muslim mob attacked the Christian community in the town of Andulo.
The school-age daughter of a deacon at one of the churches was decapitated.
Forty believers were assaulted or tortured, and one of them needed 20 stitches in his head.
The mob burned three church buildings. They also went to believers’ houses to intimidate them and damaged or destroyed items of property. Stones were thrown at the headquarters of a local Christian project, causing some damage.
An Angolan Christian leader said that the local police were unable to stop the attack and fled the scene.Fred Thompson Slams Self-Hating Democrats
Dateline USA....
Self-hating Democrats who despise the flag and the military and blame America first--even for 9/11--would be well advised to read Fred Thompson's RNC tribute to Republican Presidential candidate John McCain. A key excerpt appears below. On October 26, 1967, on his 23rd mission over North Vietnam, a surface-to-air missile slammed into John's A-4 Skyhawk jet, blowing it out of the sky.
When John ejected, part of the plane hit him -- breaking his right knee, his left arm, his right arm in three places.
An angry mob got to him.
A rifle butt broke his shoulder.
A bayonet pierced his ankle and his groin.
They took him to the Hanoi Hilton, where he lapsed in and out of consciousness for days. He was offered medical care for his injuries if he would give up military information in return.
John McCain said "No".
After days of neglect, covered in grime, lying in his own waste in a filthy room, a doctor attempted to set John's right arm without success ... and without anesthesia.
His other broken bones and injuries were not treated. John developed a high fever, dysentery. He weighed barely a hundred pounds.
Expecting him to die, his captors placed him in a cell with two other POWs who also expected him to die.
But with their help, John McCain fought on.
He persevered.
So then they put him in solitary confinement...for over two years.
Isolation ... incredible heat beating on a tin roof. A light bulb in his cell burning 24 hours a day.
Boarded-up cell windows blocking any breath of fresh air.
The oppressive heat causing boils the size of baseballs under his arms.
The outside world limited to what he could see through a crack in a door.
We hear a lot of talk about hope.
John McCain knows about hope. That's all he had to survive on. For propaganda purposes, his captors offered to let him go home.
John McCain refused.
He refused to leave ahead of men who'd been there longer.
He refused to abandon his conscience and his honor, even for his freedom.
He refused, even though his captors warned him, "It will be very bad for you."
They were right.
It was.
The guards cracked ribs, broke teeth off at the gums. They cinched a rope around his arms and painfully drew his shoulders back.
Over four days, every two to three hours, the beatings resumed. During one especially fierce beating, he fell, again breaking his arm.
John was beaten for communicating with other prisoners.
He was beaten for NOT communicating with so-called "peace delegations."
He was beaten for not giving information during interrogations.
When his captors wanted the names of other pilots in his squadron, John gave them the names of the offensive line of the Green Bay Packers.
Whenever John was returned to his cell -- walking if he could, dragged if he couldn't -- as he passed his fellow POWs, he would call out to them.
He'd smile ... and give them a thumbs-up.
For five-and-a-half years this went on.
John McCain's bones may have been broken but his spirit never was.
Now, being a POW certainly doesn't qualify anyone to be President.
But it does reveal character.
This is the kind of character that civilizations from the beginning of history have sought in their leaders.
Strength.
Courage.
Humility.
Wisdom.
Duty.
Honor.
It's pretty clear there are two questions we will never have to ask ourselves, "Who is this man?" and "Can we trust this man with the Presidency?"
He has been to Iraq eight times since 2003.
He went seeking truth, not publicity.
When he travels abroad, he prefers quietly speaking to the troops amidst the heat and hardship of their daily lives.
And the same character that marked John McCain's military career has also marked his political career.
This man, John McCain is not intimidated by what the polls say or by what is politically safe or popular.
At a point when the war in Iraq was going badly and the public lost confidence, John stood up and called for more troops.
And now we are winning. On Hunting and Guns, Democrats Are Out to Lunch
Dateline USA....
When it comes to Sarah Palin, liberal and left-wing Democrats--and their supporters in Islamizing Europe--miss the point. John McCain is crazy for choosing her as his running mate, alright--crazy like a fox.
The Republican candidate picked Palin knowing that she would enrage and energize the Left, while appealing to ordinary, rural, semi-rural, and suburban Americans who resent being disrespected and disregarded by people they perceive to be elitist Democrats.
The stupid (mainly meat-eating, hypocritical) Democrats, who have made a religion out of support for a hoax--manmade global warming--and opposition to two time-honored American traditions--responsible hunting and gun ownership and the legitimate right to self-defense--have fallen into a grizzly-bear-sized Republican trap. Their brainy, urban, multicultural Candidate of Change, Barack Hussein Obama (only "Charles Manson Hitler" could be a worse name for a Presidential candidate after 9/11, as the popular comedian Dana Carvey recently suggested in his HBO TV special) recently ridiculed small-town Americans like Palin for "clinging to guns and religion."
Ordinary, law-abiding Americans understand and appreciate that guns don't kill people; people kill people.
Palin has plenty of vulnerabilities, like any politician or candidate. But backing hunting, gun ownership and self-defense are not among them; the more her critics attack her for being an outdoors-loving sportswoman, the weaker and more foolish they look.
POSTSCRIPT: The same Liberal-Left Democrats who condemn humane hunting are quick to defend crack-dealing degenerates and other urban gangster scum--and sick, rich athletes, like Michael Vick--when they are caught engaging in the disgusting business of illegal, inhumane dog-fighting.
