Memo to Justin Webb. Point one: in your comment about the Right's remarkable anger against Obama (highlighted by David here) you clearly show you are, as they say, "in the tank" for Obama. It's easily demonstrable as your accusation precisely reflects what avowedly right-wing journalists like Michelle Malkin say is "another false narrative: The narrative of the McCain “mob" " that is being developed by the liberal-left media. Your narrative now, Justin. If balance lies in being in the middle of the opposing poles- you aren't there. It asks, and I quote, "Gordon Brown is due to launch a masterplan to save the world's rainforests by paying developing countries for not chopping them down. Environment analyst Roger Harrabin reports on whether this new plan will be successful." A masterplan, eh? Paying people for doing nothing? Think welfarism but this time with trees. Labels: Environmentalism Comments: 8 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # I caught the 8.45am item on the Today programme run by Paul Woods which involved an interview with an 18 year old Gazan homicide bomber. She was allowed to claim that her pending self-explosion was a response to those bad Jews bombing Mosques whilst the faithful are at prayer. No rebuttal of this outrageous Palestinian slur was permitted but then again since the BBC cannot bring itself to even accept that Hamas are bloodthirsty terrorists, who's surprised? Labels: anti-Israel, pro palestinian Comments: 2 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # The Telegraph reports on a forthcoming BBC drama which promises us "a graphic murder, homosexual sex and the exorcism of Mother Teresa." "The series depicts a man possessed by the devil and being skinned alive in a gay sauna. Another episode shows a father threatening to sexually assault his daughter while in another, Mother Teresa is seen on her death bed. In other scenes blood drips from the eyes of those supposed to be possessed by the Devil. The series, called Apparitions, was the idea of the actor Martin Shaw, who also stars in it as a Roman Catholic priest. " Labels: Christianophobia Comments: 14 (unread) - Biased BBC Home Sunday, October 12, 2008 Justin Webb has weighed in on the issue of all those "angry" Republican voters who just won't do the decent thing and worship The One. As Justin puts it "the fact remains that some Republicans despise Obama in a way few Democrats despise McCain." Really? And on what basis is this a fact? Justin then spews out the Dem talking point that opponents of Obama have "extreme views." It's amazing to see such one-sided reporting from the North American editor of the BBC. Labels: Justin Webb - the legend. Comments: 47 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # More pro-Obama doodling from the BBC. Once again, on the main news portal, is the earth-shattering and election clinching story that a 106-year-old American nun living in a convent in Rome is... going to vote for Obama. The faux cutesy angle on it is that she could well be the oldest person to vote in the 2008 US Presidential election. Sister Cecilia Gaudette, who last voted for President Eisenhower in 1952, has registered to vote and says she will vote forThe One. Well God bless the Sister and her aged opinion but isn't it stunning to see the BBC shamelessly spinning these pro-Obama stories one after another as if they were news? The coverage of the US election WILL be a full chapter in the Biased BBC book as I am almost (but not quite) left speechless by the hatred shown towards McCain-Palin and the fawning propagandising for Obama-Biden. Labels: PRO OBAMA AT ALL COSTS. Comments: 11 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # And still it comes - the BBC led attack on the McCain-Palin ticket. Here we read read an item entitled "McCain in "hatred" war of words". The intent of the article is clear; it is to paint McCain-Palin as racists because...sharp intake of breath for Beeboids reading this ...they dare criticise The One. It is a well woven piece of race-hustling, using the wild claims of Democrat John Lewis. As we approach the final few weeks of the US Presidential election, the BBC is using its bully pulpit to parrot just about nasty little piece of Democrat driven hatred towards the GOP possible whilst remaining mute on any criticisms of Obama. It's a disgrace what we are witnessing. If the BBC wants to act as a cheer-leader for Obama that's fine - but stop taking our cash to fund this BIAS. Labels: pro Obama Comments: 23 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # Labels: open thread Comments: 48 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # Did you see the main news story on the BBC today? We have an image of Gordon Brown silhouetted against the Union Flag with the stirring headline"UK will lead the way". Great stuff. I presume he means lead the way into the recession? The Labour Party must be so proud of the sustained campaigning carried out on its behalf so generously by the BBC in recent weeks. We have the truly shambolic dysfunctional Brown - the man who sold off our gold reserves at the bottom of the market, the man who stole your old age pension, the man told us he had done away with boom and bust - now being retailed asTHE world leader on the banking crisis! It's surreal. Just in the past day the BBC has informed us that Alastair Darling - Valium on legs - was going over to the G7 meeting in Washington to persuade the other global financial ministers to adopt the UK sovietisation model. Now Gordon is going to an EU summit in Paris where he will attempt to persuade the rest of the EU to adopt the Brown model. This is amazing stuff and is only possible because the BBC has jettisoned Brown's appalling period as Chancellor into the memory hole. David Cameron and his associates must realise that the BBC is akin to the scorpion in Aesop's tale. It will always show its true character - in this case it means propping up a discredited inept corrupt Labour government. Labels: Gordon Saved. Comments: 39 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # Interesting to note that on the main BBC news portal this morning is the truly momentous headline that "The spoof Sarah Palin is boosting comedy ratings."This is all part of the BBC's carefully contrived determination to assassinate Sarah Palin's character. Yesterday she was labelled as having abused power, now today she is mocked and ridiculed. Palin takes the Tina Fey spoofery in good spirits of course but the malignant BBC agenda in play here is to reduce Palin to a parody of herself so she can then be damned on just about every BBC political programme with a venom that is truly remarkable to witness. She appears to have the ability to drive the BBC and it cast of courtier eunuchs way beyond the point of even a pretence of balance. Labels: Palin Derangement Syndrome Comments: 22 (unread) - Biased BBC Home Saturday, October 11, 2008 How does BBC headline the story? Huge split in child death rates Beneath the headline, in boldface type: "Progress in cutting the number of deaths among children under five is still 'grossly insufficient' in some parts of the world, Unicef has warned." The picture that accompanies it is of two black children, one crying and one looking grim. The actual news is that things are getting better. But that is not the impression that the headline, the introduction or the picture is designed to give. I switched from CNN to BBC as a source of online news in response to CNN's extraordinarily biased reporting of the FLDS case in Texas. BBC is not as bad—you only have to read to the bottom of the article to get the relevant information. Labels: Africa, bias, Justin Webb - the legend., Palin Derangement Syndrome,US presidential elections Comments: 24 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # How the BBC have been relishing the news that the Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin has been found guilty of an abuse of power by an official inquiry in Alaska. If you want bias incarnate listen to this link if you can stomach it....with even Watergate being thrown into the rhetorical swirl. The BBC, like the rest of the Obamessiah cheer-leading MSM, are using this to beat up McCain and Palin bang on cue. In fact the report shows that the Governor acted within her proper and lawful authority in the reassignment of Walt Monegan. The report also illustrates that this was a partisan led inquiry run by Obama supporters and the Palins were completely justified in their concern regarding Trooper Wooten given his violent and rogue behavior. Of course if we want real investigative journalism, I can't wait for the BBC to get stuck into Obama's association with self proclaimed terrorists and his outreach programme into radical Islam. For some reason, the Beeb have been mute on those minor matters but then again I guess they are so excited about the fact that they can drag Sarah Palin's name through the mud that they just don't have the time. Also have a look at the image of Palin the BBC use on their lead portal to illustrate this story, subtle eh? The witch-hunt the BBC have been leading against the Alaskan Governor has been remarkable in it's intensity as even those who are not fans of Palin acknowledge. It makes me hope she will run for the Presidency in 2012 as the prospect of the BBC intelligentsia being driven mad appeals. Labels: Palin Derangement Syndrome Comments: 67 (unread) - Biased BBC Home David Vance # I wonder did anyone else catch the discussion on Today between psychologist Oliver James and historian Dominic Sands just before 9am? James was advocating the need to end the US/UK economic model whilst hailing that of mainland Europe (!) whilst Sands was going along with the entire "end of days" for our consumer society motif. James also urged the return of " old fashioned manufacturing" with a stunning disregard for contemporary economic and labour realities. This little Saturday morning left-wing love-in was entirely uncontaminated by any alternative form of thinking and so it was that when the events in the financial markets during the past few weeks were favourably compared to the fall of the USSR, there was no-one to demur from such a fatuous comment. All the debate you want to hear - just so long as it conforms to the underlying BBC narrative. How they must miss the USSR? Labels: anti-businessBiased BBC Monday, October 13, 2008

Natalie #...then I take a look at this motley crew, the same old same old rapid response talking head squad, ready to pontificate on anything at anytime, only five minutes from this television studio: Jonathan Freedland is helped by distinguished contributors including James Naughtie, Shirley Williams, Douglas Hurd, Simon Hoggart and Bonnie Greer. Celebrating the diversity of opinion there I don't think.
...the Lancet reports that, worldwide, the child death rate has fallen by 28% since 1990. Breaking it down by region, "deaths in western and central Africa have fallen by just 18%; in sub-Saharan Africa the figure was 21%, while in eastern and southern Africa it was 26%."
And yet the Palin world-view - essentially ignorant, unable to name a single paper read - is not the view that a nation facing an economic catastrophe, complex and international and baffling to most minds, is likely to choose ... to hear Palin screeching on about Reagan must be painful to many Republicans who knew him.
Or he can described her in the terms detailed in Hugh's post, namely as:the woman rational, educated Americans regard with ever-increasing horror.
