Aren’t WE ENGLISH the lucky ONES?

Last Wednesday, we saw just how lucky we English were to be condemned as second class citizens within the UK - the supposed union of equals.

In the House of Commons, after sucking their pencils and ruminating away, the elected representatives of Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland  have voted for MP-populated regional committees to be forced upon the people of England .  How lucky is that?

Steve Garrett, English Democrats National Council member said:-

“I have gone through the list for the votes of Scottish, Welsh and NI MPs, and have found 62 votes - 40 in favour and 22 against. Of those who voted to force these arrangements on the English, 23 were Labour Scots, 15 were Labour Welsh and 2 were Plaid Cymru. The 22 who voted against consisted of 9 Scots (Lib Dems plus 1 Con), 8 Welsh (4 Con, 3 Lib Dem and 1 independent) and 5 DUP from Northern Ireland .

So more than half the majority came from interfering Labour and Plaid Cymru MPs who have nothing better to do than vote on English matters which don’t concern them in any shape or form”.

The whole issue of English devolution has never been properly addressed by the career obsessed politicians of the Established parties within the Westminster Village . With very few notable exceptions, they have refused to give 85% of the UK ’s population (i.e. England ) a democratic voice via a referendum on English Devolution.

We pay these people very healthy salaries, they get enormous of taxpayer-funded perks - whilst the vast majority of us are left wondering how to put food on the table and pay the mortgage.

It is not like we are asking for anything that other countries within the UK have had, remember that Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland all  had national referenda to decide their democratic destiny.

Why are the English Democrats the only party demanding equality for the people of England within this so called Union ? Why is it that the Westminster Establishment lectures other countries and sends our sons and daughters to fight wars around the world on the “democratic imperative” when we in England are shamefully denied our democratic right of a nationally elected parliament?

Ed Abrams, Party Spokesman for the English Democrats said “ I am left speechless that these so called defenders of democracy continue to ignore us, continue to refuse the people of England a say on English Devolution. What have we done to be treated by these MPs with such arrogant distain. It’s not like we are asking for anything out of the ordinary, we just want to be treated with the same fairness that the good people of Scotland and Wales have been treated. Thankfully for the people of England all is not lost, we, the English Democrats are fighting on your behalf, we will not let our call be drowned out and we will not stop campaigning until we have what should rightfully be ours and that is proper representation for English interests and true Devolution for England .”
