EU's 2009 Budget Vote Set for Last Day before Xmas
The vote on the 2009 budget of the EU has been scheduled for the last day of the last session of the European Parliament before the Xmas/New Year break.
This is not the first time tricky votes have been tucked away to minimise potential trouble.
All parliaments do it, of course, just as bureaucrats put the most important papers at the bottom of the pile, hoping you won't reach them in time to make trouble!
