Late in December, the rulers of Israel began belated attacks on Hamas munitions dumps and command centers in the Gaza Strip. Government leaders had been signaling the attacks for weeks as the Israeli election campaign cranked into gear. Operation “Cast Lead,” which some pundits have foolishly termed, “the Hanukkah War” has several goals none of which is the re-establishment of Jewish towns, farms, prosperity and sovereignty in the area which, when ruled by Arabs has been a source of ceaseless attacks on Jews since 1947.
Before itemizing the purposes of the to-date minor military action let us note that in its entirety it is part of the dialectic of managed attrition that the great powers and their proxies have used to whittle down Jews, the Jewish State (promised, betrayed and achieved), and Judaism, its wholeness and holiest sites for almost nine decades. In this dialectic, Hamas or Hizbollah, Fatah, Iran, the PLO, the U.A.R. (Egypt and Syria) is the genocidalthesis, aided with arms and apologetics by the powers; Israel, whether it defends itself a lot, a little or not at all is the antithesis and in all cases the synthesis is a “New Middle East” a.k.a. an Arab Federation in which Israel is submerged [1].
This also is called “peace” and recalls what Ezekiel stated about those who “cry ‘Peace! Peace!’ But there is no peace.” That is, twenty-six centuries ago Ezekiel described the confounding of peace and war defined by Orwell in 1984 as one of the triune tenets of the Party’s “Ministry of Truth” whose method typifies postmodernist times. Selling lies is the job of the modern media which above all has labored forty years to condition people to believe that there must be a fictional State termed “Palestine” for a fictional people, “Palestinians” and that this State must be carved out of the very center of Israel, Judea and Samaria from which Jews again must be ethnically cleansed: the genuine must give way to the virtual; life to death. As the State Department Head stated, “the Road Map is irreversible” and the expulsion of Jews from the Jewish heartland is its agenda. The fiction “Palestine,” run by armed gangs from all corners of the world guarantees that the attrition noted above will intensify thus ‘rationalizing’ the introduction of NATO, EU and/or UN troops for “security” (see above, “peace”) [2].
Let us enumerate how this minor military operation conduces to the dialectic of “peace and security,” that is, endless attrition, terror, anxiety and State control.
Via the Oslo “peace process,” Gaza city was given to the PLO in 1994 (along with lots of weapons) with the arguments that,
1) this terror-group committed to the destruction of Israel would enforce security and, 2) that Israel would take back what it was giving if there was any terrorism, as Yitzhak Rabin asserted.
Since then, and especially since fall 2000,
Gaza has become the principal terror depot in the Middle East. For eight years the murderers given haven within it have had almost free play; since the Jews of Gush Katif were expelled from their towns and farms in August 2005 this mayhem has expanded to incessant mortar and rocket fire.
Successive Israeli governments have allowed this carnage to proceed in close consultation with Washington which during the second Bush administration installed a General in Israel to control the attrition process. This was done more discretely by the head of the CIA during the Clinton years.
But now the often-postponed elections are in sight. The Labor Party, whose chairman again is Ehud Barak, who as Prime Minister orchestrated the Israeli evacuation of the security zone in the upper Galilee (“South Lebanon”), was sinking like a stone;
Barak, the do-nothing Defense Minister for Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni had brought it down to 8 seats in the Knesset (Parliament) according to polls in weeks before the operation.
Israel doesn’t have and hasn’t had a Prime Minister since the protracted resignation of Ehud Olmert but this doesn’t matter:
the State is run by the State Department, the EU diplomats and their younger affiliate, the Mediterranean Union, and by Israel’s Supreme Court which serves as subcontractors to the aforementioned and which in its own right doesn’t much like Jews, not those who have some commitment to Israel’s history and Promise anyway.
So Operation “Cast Lead” firstly could be called operation “Elect Livni” (head of Kadima, the part of Likud formed to expel Jews and do the dirty work of the Left and their foreign masters) and operation “boost Barak.” According to the polls it is achieving this objective while the craven apologetics of the loyal opposition Likud is driving down its own numbers, as intended. Like the leadership of the Republican Party in America, the Likud has almost totally repudiated its charter and its base and has become the cutting edge of the Left, just as the Bush administration completed America’s mutation into a socialist state (as Dick Morris has observed) enabling an “Obama” administration to deliver “change you can believe in” by simply punctuating what already exists.
Secondly, “Cast Lead” will destroy the Hamas “extremists” in order to ‘return’ the Gaza area to the “moderates” of Fatah (the word is an acronym in Arabic of PLO) who will rule the scripted outcome, a “Palestinian” State and source of endless attrition and resulting “security” measures.
Third, per the catechism that every Israel response to attacks on Jews is termed “disproportionate response,” “aggression,” and “escalating the cycle of violence in the region” by the pack of wolfish prostitutes in the world’s mass media, “Cast Lead,” however limited it is militarily will raise the “howling around the city” and intensify calls for the UN, EU and Foggy Bottom to impose a ceasefire, thus demonstrating to Jews and the supporters of Israel that “there is no military solution” (because the powers will not allow it; that part doesn’t get discussed in “responsible,” that is, prostituted media).
Fourth, the repeatedly signaled, very limited air strikes and belated, mini-ground offensive give Hamas time to shower an ever-expanding part of southern Israel with rockets like the Grads that arrive in Gaza from Russia via Persia, Egypt and, perhaps, given the regime situation, even by ship marked “humanitarian aid” via Israel. If infantry does attack, their numbers will be so small as to maximize casualties. Allowing lengthy Hamas rocket response (just as with Hizbollah in 2006) rather than clearing the entire “Strip” in half a day conditions Israelis to living in terror of sudden death, to living in shelters, to the fact that “there is no military solution” and that the great powers must intervene to “make peace” that will be brokered by the “peace parties” Labor and Kadima perhaps joined by Likud in a “national unity government” of undertakers.
Fifth, to drive home still further into the “stubborn Jews” the lesson that to get this “peace and security” Israel must “withdraw from the occupied territories,” that is, Jews must be expelled from most of Judea and Samaria and Israel’s holiest sites, “for peace.”
Sixth, since the mitnachlim (“settlers”), some of the bravest people in the world, will not leave despite being all but abandoned by their government and the target of its and its media and court’s vilification for decades, they must be further demonized to justify their removal by the IDF and police “for peace.” (See article, “Psychology the end of Israel” in the archive; the middle of the essay describes some of the psyops done on the IDF to get them to expel Jews from their homes.
Seventh, by being minimalist and protracted, another made-for-the-media dialectic conflict, the rockets will rain into Israel and Jews will be degraded by the spectacle of their mighty State “unable” to drive Hamas and all its supporters out of Azza (that’s Hebrew for “Gaza”); some Jewish towns are being given concrete sewer pipes to use as “shelters” since the Israeli Armed Forces are not allowed to wage and win a war. Using a sewer as a shelter: conjures up images of the 1940s and serves to reinforce the default option and prime motif of the Western ethos: degrade the Jew. Another repulsive kind of degradation arises as Foreign Minister Livni pleads with French officials to delay the ceasefire that they, in her eyes, have the power to impose.
The entire exercise is degrading, dishonest, prearranged and utterly successful. Even as top IDF officers discuss how Israel’s wars have become “wars of consciousness” (media spin rather than military victory) and Benjamin Netanyahu is praised by the regime for “making Israel’s case to the world” the major media pursue their own part in this devil’s bargain. On Monday December 29, on its front page above the fold and beneath of color photo of an Arab coated with bomb soot (had he just helped launch a rocket? It makes no difference), the Wall Street Journal, a “conservative” paper owned by the “conservative” Rupert Murdoch headlined, “Israel pounds Gaze Again.” They would have no words to describe a serious military attack but did have words to sell the fantasy that Israel’s pinpoint strikes were, all-together-now, destroying the possibility of peace.” As they wrote, “the ferocity of the weekend offensive threatened diplomatic efforts just as Israel appeared to be making progress at peace-making with several of its neighbors” [3]. This odd remark may have referred to the recurrent offers of the expulsion regime to give the Golan Heights, an integral part of Israel to the artificial State and gangster regime in “Syria” which repeatedly refuses to talk to Israel unless the Golan is surrendered first as a precondition to “peace talks.” And it no doubt referred to the plans of the expulsion regime to complete the Camp David-Oslo-Road Map process by carving a “Palestinian” State for Fatah (but to be policed by NATO as several “rightwing” members of Knesset already have suggested) out of the Jewish heartland.
On its op Ed page, this newspaper featured a piece by progressive ‘pragmatists’ at an Israeli think tank designed to lubricate global arrangements: their goal, to emphasize how “essential Israel’s current operation is to create conditions” for “a two-state solution” [4]. These big men on campus shamelessly propagate terms like “Palestinian statehood” and “Palestinian self-determination” and prominently sell the big lie that Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982 (a limited but genuine military campaign) “prepared the way for Yasser Arafat’s return to the West Bank and Gaza.” Actually, it was American pressure, via the UN that imposed a ceasefire on Israel that rescued Arafat and brought him to Tunisia and then, at the Madrid conference before Oslo stipulated that the PLO be returned to the Promised Land, be armed as a security force and given parts of the Promised Land. They also sell the notion, without quite stating that they totally believe it, that Israel must have “the consent of the international community” even to suppress chronic terrorism much less suppress it totally by a total war. As noted, one makes it in a corrupt world by lying in the approved manner while sounding “authoritative,” that is, by repeating the mantra of those who own the media and relentlessly pursue their goal of a centrally managed world system.
For ‘balance,’ as we know the media are nothing if not “fair and balanced” in their presentation of the pre-set options, ‘A’ or ‘B’ to get to the scripted synthesis, ‘C,’ the day’s editorial, dripping with crocodile tears, cautioned that an Israeli ground offensive would produce “more casualties and greater international disapproval” (that’s a threat) with “the worst outcome a ground assault a la the one in Lebanon in 2006” [5]. That “assault” indeed was a disaster though not for the reasons the Journal suggests. It was a disaster because it came four weeks (or rather, six years too late), because it used a tiny number of forces concentrated in a tiny area with orders of operation that forbade the capture and holding of territory, used obsolete maps and equipment and invited the world ceasefire ultimatum blared daily by the media. But that 2006 “assault” achieved the main purpose of the interminable “peace on earth” process of the West: degrade the Jew and get them used to living behind walls. The gods of this world have built their lie on the fact that Israel never must be sovereign and by jingo they’re going to make that lie good with the invaluable help of their local subcontractors.
A few days later the Journal still featured a story about “Cast Lead” (the current spike in the dialectic) on the front page, centered above the fold beneath a color photo of rubble in Jabaliya, a primary Hamas launch pad[6]. That was not mentioned: rather, the focus of the story was the search by Israeli officials (one probably should write “Israeli” officials) for a ceasefire even though “Hamas was still firmly in control” which was not surprising given the extremely limited nature of the “surgical” aerial strikes. “Israel,” that is, the subcontractors who rule the nation of Israel in its fraction of the Promised Land were “discussing with Washington the possibility of establishing an international monitoring system” (see “fourth” above). This “significant softening of Israel’s position” it was suggested “could improve Israel’s security situation” which is a lie avoided by careful use of the word “could.” There were international monitors at the corridor between the Sinai and Gaza who were supposed to provide Israeli forces with data and what was passing into Gaza but that was for show: they fled and the main results were British officers training Fatah-PLO “police” in the Strip while America pored in arms, money and equipment that in due course was seized by Hamas. As the authors noted, “monitoring by UN officials was a key part of the truce that ended Israel’s last major military conflict [sic] with Hezbollah in Lebanon.” How did those monitors work and what were their purposes? The French commander said his men were there mainly to stimulate tourism and visit local restaurants and beaches and would not interdict arms flowing to Hizbollah from Syria. The German navy warned the IDF not to over fly its flotilla while patrolling the coast for arms smuggling or terrorist operations. So this pre-set invitation of “international monitors” is part of the surrender of sovereignty and foreign occupation as noted in items 1-7 above, all designed to degrade and subjugate Jews, Judaism and Israel. The article did not mention nor did any photo display Jewish civilians hit by indiscriminate rocket barrages nor mention where these rockets came from or how they evaded “international monitors.” Gilad Shalit was mentioned but his release, overdue by 30 months and the failure of the International Red Cross to secure it was discreetly avoided. Jews must feed those who attack them and their captives are not to be redeemed except perhaps in theory; only Arab murderers and attempted murderers must be released as “good will” gestures. Such is the good will of the new world order which is rather like the old world order.
Other media were typically blatant in condemning Israel for “Palestinian” suffering rather than clever in advancing the dialectic. Typical was an AP story that emphasized the “humanitarian crisis” among the Arabs even as Israel allowed them to flee to safety through Israel while Egypt and Hamas keeps the southern end barricaded [7]. Even as Israel sends about eighty truckloads a day of food and fuel to the “Strip” so serve the population that yearns to destroy it, provides its electricity and brings out sick people for free care in Israeli hospitals it is condemned. One might say, “No good deed goes unpunished” but to succor one’s enemies is no good deed; as for the UN’s rage about a “humanitarian crisis” it is not simply Jew-hatred: since April 1999, a “humanitarian crisis” as defined by NATO is grounds for its intervention. This is what comes of playing the game of dialectic attrition; this is the result of a nation whose leaders subcontract to its own dissolution into a stew of regional hatred and totalitarian hatreds.
That fanatics in ski masks and bomb belts to this hour are promoting their intention of exploding themselves among Israelis, soldiers and civilians, and of “turning every home into a time bomb” emphasizes the reasons that the preparatory aerial and artillery bombardment should be maximum strength to protect the lives of your own soldiers not those lusting to murder them and their families. But good sense is unlikely to get through the smog of the processed agenda (see www.memri.org for recent video).
As for CNN it was the usual stew of omissions, distortions, half-truths and lies befitting the age when “lying has become a universal principle” [8]. The almost constant coverage of the minuscule “Israeli ground offensive,” its focus on Red Crescent ambulances while avoiding the Magen David Adom ambulances that have been ferrying Arabs to treatment in Israel for years to this day, and its breathless coverage of an Arab whining pitiably that “we are living without security for eight days while you are in your homes” contrasted notably and typically with the unconcern and eclipse of the daily anguish, injuries and death by Israeli civilians targeted by Hamas sheltered by this “people” now the focus of “world” (media) concern.
In the Boston Globe also did not disappoint. For brevity’s sake suffice with a headline from page A3: “Israeli tanks at border” [9]. But there is noborder; the division between Israel and Hamastan is the armistice line of 1949, a temporary marking; as a hostile enemy entity ruled by a group of murderers pledged to annihilating Israel and its Jews Israel’s armed forces, following a saturation bombing should have driven all these Arabs out as they could have done in 1948, again in 1967 and any subsequent time. But as explained above, this is not permitted by the client regime of the global oligarchs. They do not want any borders; they want their Greater Middle East region and mean to effect it with the aid of client regimes and their media. So the Globe preferred to focus its story on the “foreigners allowed to evacuate,” passive tense to avoid mentioning the fact that Israel allowed them to escape. So the disinformation rises to the sky and blankets the world like smog as “the past is erased, the erasure is forgotten and the lie becomes truth” [10].
In this epitome of the “peace process” it is once again as Dylan sang: the Jew is “not supposed to fight back, supposed to have thick skin; supposed to lay down and die while his door is kicked in” because “he’s the neighborhood bully” [11]. The whole show might as well be choreographed by the Jokerman and the salesman his narrative empowers.
It is noteworthy that this belated, terribly limited, announced-in-advance attack on Hamas began as Hanukkah was ending because it could not be more different than the battles, faith and victory which Hanukkah commemorates, for which it offers its light in the dark, eight days, the word for “eight” being cognate with the word for “oil” and hinting at the new week when Israel’s sovereign integrity is fully restored.
It is at this season every year that Jews read the Torah portions of Mikeitz(“at the end”) and Vayyigash (“and he {Judah} approached”) that deal with the rise of Joseph from the darkness of the dungeon to dominance in Egypt and to the process of reunion and reconciliation with his brothers, all the sons of Israel and finally the patriarch as well, the entire process being by providence not for evil but to arrange a mighty deliverance as this very day. When all the sons of Israel recognize the patrimony that they share and that gives them their identity than it will not matter, no more than it mattered to Joseph and his brothers whether Egypt (the world “community”) hears or what it thinks about what they do and say in effecting their restoration and integrity. Just as portions Mikeitz and Vayyigash lead toVayechi (“and he {Jacob”} lived”) so do Wisdom (Abraham) and Strength (Isaac) join in the splendor of Jacob’s truth, achieved by the integration of Joseph and Judah in one nation centered on the land upon the mountains of Israel [8].
To the masters of the world it’s an impermissible and outdated myth they intend to bury with their virtual wars, virtual peace and virtual prosperity; but the ignorance, poverty, desolation of seed, violence and horror they breed makes the Torah’s wisdom and plan look better every day. No wonder they hasten to bury the Promise. That is what is at stake in the world of our times.

George Orwell, 1984, chapters 1-2, passim; in Deuteronomy 32:21 Moshe sings that toward the end of history, the Creator will afflict Israel “with a non-nation and a vile people.” The alliance of Edom and Ishmael is described in psalm 83 and so is its purpose, “to cut them [Israel] off from nationhood” and, if possible from memory. Those involved in education know that the world has been undergoing a lobotomy, an era of forced forgetting for some time; it is a distinctive feature of postmodern “deconstruction” and its dogma of constructed narrative over historical or rational truth.

The story does mention that Israel is trucking food into Gaza but avoids the salient fact that Hamas, shielded by other Arabs has been intentionally shelling Israeli civilians for years, and continues to do so while Israel madly tries to avoid harming the Arabs who commit war crimes by shielding combatants. By the world’s brutal calculus, the suffering of Jews can never be a “humanitarian crisis” unless, perhaps, when they’re shoveled into ovens; certainly not when their homes and towns are leveled and they’re told to take shelter in sewer pipes. 8.
