Daniel Schwammenthal (WSJ 17 February) was right to criticise the British government for its appeasement of Muslims now living in the UK . What is desperately needed is political rigour, but we see little sign of it from a government fighting for its life on another stage.
Winston Churchill described Islam as "the most retrograde force in the world". It is also as much a political ideology as a religion, and - like all totalitarian regimes - it claims a monopoly of wisdom for itself.
Islamists seek to stamp out that most fundamental of all western society's values - our freedom. We allow such threats to go unchallenged at our peril.
