A professor from Kuwait, the country liberated from Saddam Hussein's attack squads by the United States in the first Gulf War, has outlined on Arab television a potential terror attack that would involve smuggling anthrax from Mexico into the U.S. and killing 330,000 people in 60 minutes. . ....................... read more

Boxer Seeks to Ratify U.N. Treaty That May Erode U.S. Parental Rights
Sen. Barbara Boxer is urging the U.S. to ratify a United Nations measure meant to expand the rights of children, a move critics are calling a gross assault on parental rights that could rob the U.S. of sovereignty. "To the extent that an outside body, a group of unaccountable so-called experts in Switzerland have a say over how children in America should be raised, educated and disciplined -- that is an erosion of American sovereignty," said Steven Groves, a fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank........................ read more

Federal Bailout Could Weaken US Ability To Protect From Terrorism
Trillions of dollars in government spending might stabilize the economy, but for now it may have weakened some U.S. security interests abroad and hampered the nation's ability to respond financially to an attack at home. That curious conclusion by security and financial analysts reveals one of the unexpected consequences that could emerge from the government's bailout and stimulus plans. It also shows how intertwined the economy and national security have become........................ read more

EMP attack: Overlooked catastrophe?
When Iran successfully launched its first domestically made satellite into orbit on Feb. 1, U.S. State Department official Robert Wood said Iran's activities could "possibly lead to the development of ballistic missiles" and were of "great concern." Now that Iran is capable of launching satellites, Tehran needn't worry about developing ICBM capabilities. In the same Jerusalem Post article, Glick writes, "Three to five nuclear bombs of any size, launched into space on satellites and detonated above the U.S., Europe and Asia would send Western Civilization back to the 19th century. ........................ read more

Israel's next government will be 'more Jewish and more Zionist'
Israel's next government will be "more Jewish and more Zionist", the confident faction leader of the right-wing National Union party declared Thursday, following coalition talks with members of Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. "There was very positive atmosphere at the meeting," said Yaakov Katz, as he emerged from the talks at Kfar Maccabiah in central Israel. Survey examining Israeli Jews' approach to Christianity reveals astounding gaps between secular, religious
The Pope's recent rehabilitation of Holocaust-denying Bishop Richard Williamson outraged Jews worldwide, while a recent TV skit mocking Jesus on Israel's Channel 10 sparked anger in the Christian world. The strained relations between the two faiths prompted the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies to conduct a survey examining the public's stances towards Christianity, the Christian world and Christian presence in Israel. On almost all issues seculars exhibited an open-minded approach towards Christianity, whereas religious respondents were less than tolerant. ...................... read more

Fatah and Hamas: Heading for a Showdown in Lebanon
Stacks of portraits of Mahmoud Abbas stand unused, gathering dust in the office of his Fatah movement in Beirut's Shatila Palestinian refugee camp. Posters of Abbas would normally hang in offices and on street corners throughout Lebanon's 12 Palestinian refugee camps. But ever since Israel's incursion into Gaza earlier this year, Abbas has become politically radioactive to the approximately 400,000 refugees languishing in Lebanon, who were livid at his failure to act in defense of the beleaguered Gazans.. ....................... read more

Farewell privacy, Big Brother’s beady eyes are watching
Surveillance cameras and security monitoring systems provide us with convenience and safety, but there’s a cost - a loss of privacy. From the moment you step out of your apartment and get into the elevator, you’re followed. A mass of surveillance cameras, mobile phones, credit cards, T-money transportation cards, e-mail and messenger programs leave behind an electronic trail, whether you like it or not. We see cameras everywhere, but who monitors them? Is the loss of privacy worth it? And what exactly are the benefits?... .......................... read more

Chicago Rushes Head First Into 'Limitless' Surveillance
Governments around the world are finding reasons to install surveillance cameras, but few are keeping account of the costs and benefits that come from those CCTV systems. Chicago, in its bid to follow in China's steps as host of the Olympics, is the most recent one to do so. By spending millions of dollars, Chicago aims to have a camera "on every corner" in preparation for the 2016 Summer Games that it hopes to host. 8. Christian Worldview/Issues

Some British Christians feel oppressed in the public square
For a nation shaped by an overtly Christian heritage, Britain has apparently become a difficult place to be overtly Christian. The conservative press bewails a steady erosion of Christian values. A member of Parliament has called for debate on "systematic and institutional discrimination toward Christians." Even former Prime Minister Tony Blair recently let slip how aides would brusquely suppress any instinct he had to bring his faith into public view. Now, a succession of ordinary Christians are finding this rule applies to them, too.. ................... read more
