Sir

Jonathon Porritt criticises parents for having more than two children.  But it is not they who are 'irresponsible', as he puts it.  It is him.

He chooses to ignore two essential facts.  The indigenous population of the UK is not reproducing itself at sustainable levels.  Instead of the essential 2.1 children per woman, we British currently have a reproductive rate of 1.66. This is mainly because a quarter of all women born in or after the 1970s have chosen not to have children.

Meanwhile, female migrants to this country, especially Muslims, have a birth rate averaging close to five children each.

If these trends continue, demographers predict that  Britain 's indigenous population will become a minority in its own country within two generations.

Worse, as I demonstrated in my 2007 pamphlet J'Accuse...! the majority will not have been raised as British subjects. Our traditions, culture and way of life will have been irreparably damaged.

That is why Mr Porritt is so profoundly wrong.
