Quest for Artificial Nose to Sniff Out Terrorists' Fear

'Body odours also change perceptibly according to mood. Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have already produced a gel that acts like the smell receptors in the human nose. Now they are trying to create a version that can isolate the tangy smell of adrenaline, the stress hormone, so that nervous passengers or those with a guilty conscience can be singled out.'

International Corporations and the Heart of Darkness

'I have to hand out more than the usual amount of links today, as I did in the recent Smoking Mirrors, because sometimes clarity is central to understanding. Maybe it's not sometimes, maybe it's always that way.

What I am going to say ties into the ongoing bank bailouts and the drug war and the war on terror and directs you back to something Marx said about wars being engineered for economic gain. It's the men in the suits with the fountain pens who pull the trigger on the guns around the world.'

Lord Myners Hid His Money in Tax Haven

'Lord Myners, the minister in charge of the government's assault on tax havens, has used a blind trust to conceal £250,000 of his own money in an offshore shelter. Details of the secret holding have been obtained by The Sunday Times as G20 leaders gather in London pledging to stamp out tax abuses.

Myners transferred 500,000 of his own shares in the Ermitage hedge fund, based in Jersey, into a blind trust when he became a minister in October.'

Who Would you Rather Trust - the BBC or a Blogger?

'The best reason for wanting my colleagues to survive is that serious reporters and broadcasters offer a guarantee that what they say is true. If they stray, their editors impose journalistic standards and insist on objectivity. They may not have the best or fullest story or the most vivid account, but readers should be able to assume their work is reliable, while a blogger's commitment to objectivity can never be assumed.

The BBC offers the most comprehensive guarantee. Politicians and lobbyists want to influence it more than any other news organisation because, despite occasional lapses, its reporters have earned the right to be believed.

The corporation should be becoming the most important news institution not merely in Britain but the world.'

Rise of Sea Levels is 'The Greatest Lie Ever Told'

'If one thing more than any other is used to justify proposals that the world must spend tens of trillions of dollars on combating global warming, it is the belief that we face a disastrous rise in sea levels. The Antarctic and Greenland ice caps will melt, we are told, warming oceans will expand, and the result will be catastrophe.

But if there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Morner, formerly chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. And the uncompromising verdict of Dr Morner, who for 35 years has been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe, is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story.'

Could a Massive 'False-Flag' Cyberattack Be On The Horizon?

'Since the attacks on September 11th, 2001, which many have called a "false-flag operation", meaning elements within the Federal Government carried out the attacks while blaming it on its enemies, there has yet to be a massive Internet attack which would, no doubt, cripple the global infrastructure, especially in these unstable times. But could one be in the works in order to usher in complete worldwide government control of the Internet?'

Greek Jews 'Shocked' After Holocaust Denier is Acquitted by Athens Appeals Court

'The Greek Jewish community said Friday it was "shocked" after neo-Nazi militant Kostas Plevris, who wrote a book denying the Holocaust and containing offensive references to Jews, was acquitted by an Appeals court in Athens. Plevris was found not guilty of "incitement to racial hatred and violence against the Jews" by the 5-member court.

In a reaction, the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece (KIS) expressed its "disappointment and amazement" at the decision of the Athens court.'

Fusion Center Agents Working Public Forums?

'People continue to ask me, "what is a fusion center?" At first, I was perplexed by the term, but as I looked further.....it seems to be a coordinated effort by Homeland Security, through various state run agencies, to monitor websites and forums in their area. They monitor for illegal activities, including terrorism. However, there is a likely scenario that goes beyond law enforcement, but a potential brainwashing tactic, under the direction of the Obama administration.'

The Obama Government: Take From the Poor and Give to the Rich

'These past several weeks have witnessed a stunning attack on working people, with the Obama administration leading the charge.

It started with Larry Summers, Obama's chief economic adviser, responding to the A.I.G. bonuses by pontificating about the sanctity of contracts: "We are a country of law. There are contracts. The government cannot just abrogate contracts." Like a mad dog pursuing its prey, he pounced on the conclusion that absolutely nothing could be done about the bonuses.

Unfortunately, Summers voiced no similar outcry when the Obama administration, only weeks earlier, insisted that the U.A.W. contracts be renegotiated as a condition for the auto industry receiving a bailout, suggesting that a different set of rules applies to the rich than to the rest of us who constitute the majority and work for a living.

However, when a public uproar swept the country in response to these bonuses, many of which were ear-marked for the financial wizards who helped drive the economy over the cliff, the Obama administration executed a hasty about-face. Suddenly, they too were "outraged," along with everyone in Congress who wanted to keep alive any chance of re-election.'
