Skype and voice/message security

A friend of mine has explained how Skype is routed and this provides an almost foolproof way of shaking off the snooping state:

The nice thing is Skype does not route through a central location and so no one can connect to and monitor directly to any specific "connection"

Each PC connected to Skype serves as a part of the connection routing (whether carrying a conversation or not) (It used similar very secure protocols to those used by Torrent Download and uses 128bit encryption - virtually unbreakable) and is both secure and almost imposible to trace as each time you connect to the same recipient the routing will will be different and is actually dynamic and often uses concurrent connections ..... I love it  :-)

One very good reason to use it for "private" calls (apart from it being all but free)

The only way it can be "stopped" is to block it completely ... and this is something that cannot be done with any "simple" excuse or protocol. Only Internet 2 could block it, but who uses that ???? ... there is little reason.

This will cost hugh sums of money and will get nowhere (and besides the encryption algorythm can be randonly changed) .... don't see any change of "sucess" anytime soon ......

The beauty of it is, is that not only are your voice communications secure but also your messaging(important, say, if you are planning your election campaign and don't want the political opposition to get to know what you're at). And don't forget the video conferencing facility is also free.
