Here are some of the things that the press are saying today (I omit
the Guardian only because it doesn't appear very interested!)
But beyond these is the most astonishing (NOT the most important but
the most astonishing) headline today! - viz "Clean up toxic assets
quicker, Darling urges US"
Some comment is badly needed.
-Firstly he chickened out from facing his critics in the House of
Commons by clearing off to Washington earlier than he need have done.
-Secondly, presiding over the world's worst performing economy,
condemned to two decades of austerity because of his and Brown's
mismanagement, he nevertheless has the nerve to lecture the Americans
on cleaning up toxic assets, when the main cause of British banks
still malfunctioning is that their toxic assets have not been cleared up
-Thirdly the prat cleartly hasn't a clue at the British reaction to
such callous arrogance. Who the hell does he think he is?
