April 15th protests throughout the country showed us that furious Americans can and did mobilize against government tyranny. Now what? For many at Tea Parties throughout the U.S. that marked the end of their activism. They have returned to their apolitical lives and will not make another political peep until 2012. Others however, are reenergized. The fire in their bellies is now stoked and ready to be fanned into a political wildfire the likes of which we’ve not seen in our lifetime.......

Meanwhile, the modern “conservative” movement awakened by Barry Goldwater, carried up the mountain by Ronald Reagan, preached over the airwaves by Limbaugh and Hannity, and destroyed by GW Bush and the Republican Party is still being called “conservatism” by those on both the winning and the losing side. You see, when the “liberals” lost they didn’t change their ideas, only their name. Yesterday’s “liberals” are today’s “progressives.” It has a good ring to it….progressive. Who doesn’t like progress?.......

Hundreds of responses poured into my computer concerning the movie documentary,BLIND SPOT. It’s amazing how millions can look at a steam locomotive bearing down on them and continue walking on the tracks away from the train so they won’t see it when it runs over them. And so we find ourselves in our own Blind Spot as a civilization. Since it’s not happening to us right now, such as Hurricane Katrina hasn’t reached shore yet, so we continue building sand castles on the beach........

The Obama Administration's new Secretary of Homeland Security recently ordered immigration agents to stop their workplace searches for illegal aliens while at the same time denigrating US war veterans and conservative or right-wing groups. In a warning sent out nationally to local police and law enforcement executives, the Department of Homeland Security is cautioning local police agencies about the alleged rise in “right-wing extremist activity.”........
