Barack Obama Spins the Facts, Takes Single-Payer Health Care Off the Table

'Last Thursday at a town hall meeting in Rio Rancho New Mexico President Barack Obama was asked why, when "so many people go bankrupt using their credit cards to pay for healthcare.  Why have they taken single-payer off the plate (audience applause), and why is Senator Baucus on the Finance Committee discussing health care when he has received so much money from the pharmaceutical companies?  Isn't it a conflict of interest?"  (more audience applause)

Arabs Slam Bill to Criminalize 'Nakba'

'Arab activists and politicians are slamming proposed legislation that would criminalize commemorating the establishment of the State of Israel as a day of mourning.

The bill, which has been submitted by MK Alex Miller (Israel Beiteinu), would punish citizens with jail terms of up to three years for commemorating what Palestinians and Arabs consider their nakba or catastrophe. The bill, which is still in a preliminary stage, is expected to be discussed by the cabinet in the coming weeks, Miller said.'
