Obama Should Work for World Peace by Reaching Out to China and Russia, Instead of 'Muslim World'

No good will come from President Barack Obama's engagement of Iran and outreach to "the Muslim world."

Appeasement of Iran will make war inevitable--on Tehran's terms. Treating predominantly Muslim nations as a collective, supranational power will embolden radical Islam and encourage Islamist/fundamentalist terrorism and extremism and the toppling of secular leaders in Arab countries.

Obama's attempts at arriving at a Grand Bargain with nuclear-arming, Islamist Iran (at Israel's expense) in order to pacify Pakistan and Afghanistan are fueling fears of encirclement on the part of rising China and resurgent Russia. The two allies are convinced that the United States never abandoned its Cold War strategy of using political Islam (and also Tibetan separatism in China's case) as weapons against them. Their Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which includes Iran and Pakistan as observers, is meant to counter U.S. power and influence in Central Asia.

The fears of the former rivals for leadership of the world Communist movement--who are now more closely aligned than ever before--are not entirely unjustified, given the documented history of covert U.S. support for the Dalai Lama during the 1950s, '60s and early '70s, and, more recently, the clandestine war on the side of the jihadist warlords of Afghanistan, launched by the Carter administration and escalated by the Reagan administration into the largest covert operation in U.S. history, which was instrumental in bringing down the Soviet empire.

With the above in mind, Obama should consider working toward a Grand Bargain, or, at least, toward a constructive understanding, with Beijing and Moscow, instead of with Iran and Islamism, for the purpose of preventing the spread of nuclear weapons and restoring an urgently needed measure of order and stability in the world. Summits and speeches in China, Russia, and Washington, D.C. are far more important and much more likely to advance the cause of world peace, including peace in the Middle East and peace on the divided Korean Peninsula, than a bizarre Presidential address to barbaric Muslim nations from Egypt--an event that is certain to be interpreted by the so-called Muslim/Arab street as both a sign of weakness on the part of the U.S. and proof of divine backing for the cause of global jihad.

North Korea Restarts Nuclear Plant

U.S. spy satellites have detected signs that North Korea has restarted its nuclear plant, according to a South Korean newspaper.

The large-circulation Chosun Ilbo is reporting that the the U.S. has detected steam coming from a reprocessing facility at North Korea's main Yongbyon nuclear plant. The paper cited an unnamed South Korean government source.

North Korea recently said it was restarting the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel rods to harvest weapons-grade plutonium at the Yongbyon plant in response to international criticism of its April 5 rocket launch.

Obama Adds Saudi Visit to Mideast Itinerary

If Israel has a friend in the White House, it is not the President of the United States.

In a clear insult to Israel, Barack Obama today added a meeting with the King of Saudi Arabia--in the Saudi capital, Riyadh--to an upcoming visit to Egypt. Obama is deliberately not stopping in Israel as a way of highlighting its diminished standing in U.S. eyes.

Obama's Saudi visit will take place the day before his scheduled speech to "the Muslim world" from Cairo, Egypt, on June 4. He plans to dine with the King, before whom he recently bowed--unlike any U.S. President in history--deeply and submissively, from the waist--and spend the night in the oil-rich family-business-disguised-as-a-country, which has no human rights and is still known for public beheadings, before heading to Egypt.

How heady ... as in stupefying ... and how horrible ... for Israel and America ... and the cause of freedom worldwide.
