North Korea Has Chemical Warheads
China Confidential has consistently warned that the stalled six-party forum for dealing with North Korea's nuclear arms ignores its chemical, biological, and ballistic missile programs.
Reuters reports:North Korea has several thousand tonnes of chemical weapons it can mount on missiles that could be used on a rapid strike against the South, said a report released on Thursday by the International Crisis Group (ICG).
North Korea in recent weeks has raised tensions in North Asia, responsible for one-sixth of the global economy, with missile launches, threats to attack the South and a May 25 nuclear test that led to U.N. sanctions.
The report from the prestigious non-governmental organisation said the consensus view is the North's army possess about 2,500-5,000 tonnes of chemical weapons that include mustard gas, sarin and other deadly nerve agents.
"If there is an escalation of conflict and if military hostilities break out, there is a risk that they could be used. In conventional terms, North Korea is weak and they feel they might have to resort to using those," said Daniel Pinkston, the ICG's representative on Seoul.
The North has been working on chemical weapons for decades and can deliver them through long-range artillery trained on the Seoul area -- home to about half of South Korea's 49 million people -- and via missiles that could hit all of the country.
"The stockpile does not appear to be increasing but is already sufficient to inflict massive civilian casualties on South Korea," the ICG report said.
The report said North Korea has also worked on a biological weapons programme but Pinkston does not think Pyongyang has fully developed that weapons programme.
In a separate report released simultaneously, the ICG said North Korea has deployed more than 600 Scud-type missiles that can hit all of South Korea and as many as 320 Rodong missiles that can strike Japan.

Three decades after former U.S. President Jimmy Carter betrayed the pro-U.S. Shah of Iran in order to curry favor with anti-U.S. and antidemocratic, Islamist revolutionaries, thousands of Iranians are risking their lives to question the very legitimacy of the regime that Carter helped to create and that his ideological heir, President Barack Obama, is apparently eager to appease--and even support--in the context of a Grand Bargain to pacify the Middle East. Obama and his advisers have made it clear that the United States is ready to provide the monstrous mullahocracy with security guarantees in return for a supposedly verifiable commitment to refrain from making nuclear weapons.
In fact, the Obama administration, influenced by Carter and his former National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, is prepared to "live with, but never accept" a nuclear-armed, Islamist Iran, as Brzezinski has said.
No amount of spin can hide the fact that if Iranians somehow--miraculously--manage to end their long nightmare it will be in spite of and not because of Obama, his advisers, and an adoring media that was five minutes away from embracing the idiotic idea of "Islamist democracy."Wednesday, June 17, 2009
CNN Islamist Sympathizer Suddenly Irrelevant
Click here for the story. CNN's Christiane Amanpour, an apologist for the mullahocracy--and a vicious enemy of Israel--is suddenly far from the action and totally irrelevant. What Jimmy Carter Wrought in Iran
The above photo shows a demonstrator in Tehran after he was shot dead by Iran's dreaded Basij militia. The paramilitary force is controlled by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, which long ago eclipsed the regular army.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The victim's blood is on Carter's hands.... Iran's chief agent of influence in the United States, Jimmy Carter, helped the Islamist monsters come to power in 1979. Carter's betrayal of Iran's modernizing monarch, His Imperial Majesty Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi (may his soul rest in peace), paved the way for the monstrous mullahocracy headed by the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a Hitlerian madman whom Carter's envoy to the United Nations, Andrew Young, described as a "saint."
The Islamist regime that Carter still supports--his influence can be seen in President Obama's appeasement policy--makes the families of its victims pay for "bullet money" before releasing their bodies.

Is Kim Jong-il Another Jim Jones?
The bottom line on North Korea is that nobody really understands the place.
The international community may be facing a nuclear-armed Jonestown--with Dear Leader Kim Jong-il playing the Jim Jones role--ready, willing and able to sacrifice his people for an insane purpose.
Consider this dispatch from North Korea's crazy Korean Central News Agency:Pyongyang: A rally was held at Kim Il-sung Square on Monday to denounce the U.N. Security Council's "resolution on sanctions," cooked up at the instigation of the U.S. imperialists.
Attending the rally were senior Communist Party, army and state officials, the chairman of a friendly party, officials from labor organizations, national institutions, servicepersons, young people, students and people from all walks of life - over 100,000 in all.
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Ki-nam, delivered a speech in which he said that at the instigation of the United States, the U.N. Security Council has adopted another grave provocation - an anti-DPRK "resolution on sanctions" in response to its second nuclear test. In essence, Kim Ki-nam said, this is a wicked offensive by the U.S. imperialists to disarm the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, strangle its economy and undermine its ideology and system.
The U.N. Security Council's "resolution on sanctions" is an intolerable mockery of the dignity of the Korean people and an arrogant criminal act that wantonly violated its sovereignty.
The DPRK has so far done what it must, despite the never-ending "sanctions" on the part of the imperialist allied forces. But far from "weakening" it, these "sanctions" have driven the DPRK to augment its national power. This proves beyond doubt that no anti-DPRK sanctions racket by the enemy is feasible, and that it's ridiculous and foolish for America to try and bring down the DPRK through "sanctions."
If they persist in stifling and piling sanctions on the DPRK, misjudging the tough stand taken by the army and people of the DPRK as "brinkmanship," these hostile forces will sustain an even more bitter setback and defeat
No matter how desperately the American imperialists and other hostile forces work to isolate and blockade the DPRK, which is a fully-fledged nuclear weapon state, the DPRK will remain unfazed. If the enemies are foolish enough to attempt a blockade, the DPRK will respond with resolute and deadly blows, considering it an act of war.
The DPRK will steadily advance along the path of independence that it has chosen and will win final victory in its confrontation with the United States, whether or not it has flanks or international aid.
Pak Jae-gyong, vice minister of the People's Armed Forces, who spoke on behalf of the Korean People's Army, vehemently denounced the U.N. Security Council "resolution" as a serious provocation and a wanton violation of the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK and its people.
He warned that the Korean People's Army, with powerful retaliatory blows, will mercilessly frustrate any attempt to check, inspect, examine and blockade DPRK ships or vehicles on which the sovereignty of the DPRK is exercised.
Pak pointed out that in the current situation, since the Armistice Agreement has lost all of its legal binding force and under which the Korean People's Army is still technically at war with the American imperialists, the KPA will exercise the right to a preemptive strike to beat back the slightest provocation of the enemy. The KPA will deal telling blows to America's vital parts and wipe out all of its imperialist aggressor troops no matter where they are in the world.
The Japanese militarists and the Lee Myung-bak group of traitors [reference to the current South Korean administration] and other lackeys of the U.S. imperialists should stop running wild, since they are fully aware that if they continue in their reckless fashion, they will never be able to escape the stern punishment of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK.
Then the floor was taken by representatives of industrial laborers, agricultural workers, intellectuals and youth and students.
Thanks to the notion of diplomacy for its own sake, the regime that is responsible for the above article is capable of dropping a Nagasaki-sized nuclear bomb ... on Nagasaki ... and South Korea, and, also, perhaps, on the United States.US Denies Meddling in Iran
AP reports:Iran accused the United States on Wednesday of "intolerable" meddling in its internal affairs, alleging for the first time that Washington has fueled a bitter postelection dispute. Opposition supporters marched in Tehran's streets for a third straight day to protest the outcome of the balloting.
The Iranian government summoned the Swiss ambassador, who represents U.S. interests in Iran, to complain about American interference, state-run Press TV reported.
The English-language channel quoted the government as calling Western interference "intolerable."
The U. S. rejected the Iranian claims, saying President Barack Obama would raise concerns about, but not meddle in, Iranian politics.North Korea Threatens US with 'Merciless' Attack
The Obama administration says it will "never accept" North Korea as a nuclear state. But the meaning is clear as mud in light of the administration's tacit acceptance of Zbigniew Brzezinski's potentially catastrophic live-with-but-never-accept formula for North Korea's nuclear-arming, Islamist ally, Iran.
In the meantime, North Korea today escalated its war of words with the United States and its allies.
"If the U.S. and its followers infringe upon our republic's sovereignty even a bit, our military and people will launch a 100- or 1,000-fold retaliation with merciless military strike," the North's state-run Minju Joson newspaper vowed in a commentary.
China Confidential analysts believe the North is itching for a fight. The dynamic that it has unleashed could lead to a full-blown conflict that could include a nuclear strike by the North on a South Korean target.
North Korea perceives the United States as weak--with the means but without the political will to crush the Stalinist/Kimist regime. Pyongyang's political and military leaders believe they can escalate in stages, even to the point of delivering devastating blows to the South without necessarily triggering a truly massive retaliation by the U.S. Short of actually attacking U.S. troops or Japan with nuclear arms, the North seems confident that it can avoid nuclear counterattack by Washington.
Not for nothing, as the Russians used to say, has the North renounced the Korean War armistice....Sham Election Indicates Iran's Top Turbaned Tyrant May be Puppet of the Maniac-in-Chief
As of this writing, new protests are planned....
Reporting from Tehran, BBC correspondent John Leyne observes:It's quite clear that there are enormous disputes going on behind the scenes. But the people who run this country are not stupid, there are some quite smart people, even loyalists to [President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad, and they must realise how much deeper they are digging themselves into this mess everyday.
But at the moment, quite inexplicably, the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei seems to be quite in thrall to Mr Ahmadinejad, it's almost as if he's taking his orders from him. He usually stays above the fray and interestingly he's still not been seen in public since the election.
Click here for the explanation: the mullahocracy has morphed into a military dictatorship. Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps are in charge.
That the maniac-in-chief and the men with the guns are also Islamist zealots--Shiite fanatics with apocalyptic visions and fantasies--should cause Americans to question their government's decision to engage (appease) the nuclear-arming regime. Iran's foreign policy is imperialist; like Nazi Germany before the Second World War, Iran intends to overthrow the status quo, regionally and globally. A regime like that can't be appeased.
Instead of preventing war with Iran, appeasement will make war inevitable--on Iran's terms.Boundless Bias: Israel Punished for Peace Efforts
