Man Who Died After Police Restraint 'Covered with Injuries'

'The mother of a man with psychiatric problems who was pinned face down to the pavement by three police officers shortly before he died told an inquest today that when she viewed her son's body his face was covered with injuries. The inquest into the death of Faisal Al-Ani, 43, from Southend in Essex, was shown a montage of CCTV footage including the moment he was wrestled to the ground by police officers.'

Obama: Iran Has the Right to Nuclear Power

'President Barack Obama suggested that Iran may have some right to nuclear energy _ provided it proves by the end of the year that its aspirations are peaceful. In a BBC interview broadcast Tuesday, he also restated plans to pursue direct diplomacy with Tehran to encourage it set aside any ambitions for nuclear weapons it might harbor. Iran has insisted its nuclear program is aimed at generating electricity. But the U.S. and other Western governments accuse Tehran of seeking atomic weapons.'
