Quo Vadis?
We (meaning the vocal and, so far, ineffective vocal opposition to British membership of the EU) cannot go on like this. Something has to change, soon and significantly.
Even if the idea of a privately organised referendum on Lisbon got off the ground no government would take the slightest notice of the outcome, including Cameron. He is no Winston Churchill or Maggie Thatcher. An Eton version of early Blair. We deserve and desperately need better.
We also desperately need older and wiser heads in the Commons instead of a bunch of youngsters with no experience of the real world, and little understanding of true British values.
Meanwhile, various pressure groups keep talking, but nothing actually changes.
I am even more angry about what has been done to my country than before I was elected to the European Parliament five years ago. My grandstand view has truly appalled me. I know beyond doubt, and from direct experience, that the parliament in Brussels is merely an expensive farce of a talking shop - a monstrous deceit on the voters.
The time has come to ask myself - what next? By the end of this summer I intend to decide my personal "quo vadis" question. My only caveat is that it must make a difference.
Suggestions welcome!
