In reading the outcome of the German Court decision,
I believe that every national Parliament should compare the Treaty of Lisbon (which takes in ALL EU Treaties)
to see if it/they are compatible with their own Constitutions, and if they feel it in keeping for the EU Treaties to allow the EU to have competence over National Laws and Constitutions?
Most Countries can and do alter their Constitutions to allow for that but here in the UK, we cannot do that.
Governments have just simply "ignored" our Ancient Common Law Constitution.
However, I believe that the people will no longer allow that to happen and neither will they accept the proposals for a new written Constitution with possibly a new Bill of Rights acceptable either;
for most already realise that through Lisbon, the EU will have "competence" over any new written Constitution and new Bill of Rights that may be brought forward by any British Minister no matter how high.
In fact, what is proposed, this new 'exciting written constitution for the first time ever in this country complete with a new Bill of Rights, is EXACTLY to allow the EU to have competence over-all.
All this from people that swear a solemn Oath of TRUE ALLEGIANCE to the CROWN.
The people from every Country should demand the withdrawal of the Treaty of Lisbon and get their Governments to do exactly the same as the German Courts have done and see what is the outcome. While the Treaty is withdrawn, perhaps the people in this alleged democratic European Union can have THEIR say on whether they want deeper and more meaningful integration which 'Lisbon' brings?
