Eurabia, Dhimmitude, and the War Against Israel: Part I

This article is based largely on Bat Ye’or’s book Eurabia, which shows that Europe has succumbed to “dhimmitude” and is waging a war against Israel in collaboration with the Arab League.
Dhimmitude is the condition of servility and humiliation Jews and Christians suffered under Muslim rule. But today Europe itself has succumbed to dhimmitude and is committing cultural suicide
Europeans created the machinery for Europe’s own demise more than 30 years ago at the instigation of France. Their goal was to develop an alliance with the Muslim Arab countries that would endow Europe—especially France—with the power to rival the United States. This goal was pursued without official treaties, under the innocent-sounding name of the Euro-Arab Dialogue—to use its current designation.
The Euro-Arab Dialogue manages all aspects of Euro-Arab relations—financial, political, economic, cultural, and those pertaining to immigration. The Euro-Arab Dialogue established the cultural policies in the schools and universities of the European Union—the EU.
Since its first meeting in Cairo in 1975, the Euro-Arab alliance has been attended by the ministers and heads of state both from European and Arab countries, as well as by representatives of the EU and the Arab League. Agreements have been concluded concerning the diffusion of Muslims in Europe and the promotion of Arab-Islamic culture in European cities. These accords also involve the transfer of technologies, including nuclear technology, to Arabs states.
The Arabs set the conditions for this Euro-Arab symbiosis:
1) European policy would be independent from, and opposed to that of the United States;
2) recognition by Europe of a “Palestinian people,” and the creation of a “Palestinian” state;
3) European support for the PLO;
4) the designation of Arafat as the sole and exclusive representative of that so-called Palestinian people;
5) the de-legitimizing of the State of Israel, both historically and politically, its shrinking into non-viable borders, and the Arabization of Jerusalem.
The Euro-Arab Dialogue therefore involves Europe’s undeclared and hidden war against Israel, through economic boycotts, deliberate vilification of Israel, and the spreading of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism. This is the Europe Prime Minister Ehud Olmert recently toured and from which he sought to gain support for his so-called realignment plan: the surrendering of most of Judea and Samaria to the Palestinian Authority. European leaders must have regarded Olmert as a “useful idiot,” to use Lenin’s bon mot.
But notice that the Euro-Arab agreement to dismantle Israel was on the agenda two years before Sadat ‘s peace initiative of 1977—which can only have been a ploy to shrink Israel as I warned Menachem Begin at the time.
But now let’s see what the Euro-Arab Dialogue has done to Europe. During the past three decades the EU and the Arab League concluded several non-official agreements:
1) it was understood that those Europeans who would be dealing with Arab immigrants would undergo special sensitivity training, in order to better appreciate Arab customs;
2) the Arab immigrants would remain under the control and the laws of their countries of origin;
3) history textbooks in Europe would be rewritten by joint teams of European and Arab historians;
4) the teaching of the Arabic language and of Arab and Islamic culture were to be taught, in the schools and universities of Europe, by Arab teachers experienced in teaching Europeans.
Europe has sold its soul to Islam. By tying its political destiny to the Arab countries, Europe became involved in the logic of Jihad against Israel and the United States. No wonder the EU opposed the US invasion of Iraq and has actually aided an abetted Islamic terrorism.
On the cultural front, there has been a complete re-writing of history, which was first undertaken during the 1970s in European universities. A “Foundation on the Dialogue of Cultures and Civilizations” was established to control everything that was said, written and taught on the new continent of Eurabia. As in Israel, there is hardly any diversity of opinion in Europe’s left-wing dominated media.
Dhimmitude in Europe thus began with the subversion of its culture and values, with the destruction of its history. Europe adopted the Islamic conception of history, in which Islam is defined as a liberating force, a force for peace, and Jihad is deemed a “just war.” Those who resist Jihad, like the Israelis and the Americans, are the guilty ones, rather than those who wage Jihad.

Dhimmitude, which degraded Jews and Christians living under Muslim rule, is now instilling in Europeans a hatred for their own values and the wish to destroy their own origins and history. (This cultural self-hatred is also evident in the anti-Jewish agenda of Israel’s Supreme Court.) In Europe, the conviction that European civilization is based on the Judeo-Christian tradition has been undermined by leftwing politicians, judges, professors, and journalists that dominate Europe’s Establishment. Islam is filling this spiritual vacuum.
Europeans, like dhimmis, behave like inferior creatures who undergo Muslim humiliations and aggressions in silence. Muslims commit aggressions with impunity, which only increases their feeling of superiority. In some urban centers Muslim youth roam the streets in packs and commit crimes in daylight, in front of scores of witnesses, without fear of being stopped or punished. Imams preach that Muslims have a right to steal from infidels. The police and the courts turn a blind eye to these imams lest they be accused of “racism.”
Crime in the Netherlands is twice that of the United States. In 2001 it was reported that 65% of rapes in Norway are committed by “non-Western immigrants”—a euphemism for Muslims.
Americans should take note that Europe has embraced multiculturalism. Arabs do not have to integrate in the native culture of the country to which they immigrate. Unlike an earlier America, Europe is not a melting pot. To require Arabs to integrate is to imply that the indigenous culture—say of France—is superior to Arab culture.
But this is called “racism,” an attitude fostered by university-bred doctrine of cultural relativism: all cultures are morally equal. This doctrine is destroying Europe. It is also destroying Israel and the United States.
Given cultural relativism, anti-polygamy laws are not enforced. So Arabs are not only multiplying in Europe, they remain Arabs. London is called Londonistan, and Paris may soon be called Paristan.
But consider Europe’s family reunification laws. If you’re a citizen in the Netherlands, for example, your foreign spouse, children and (in some cases) other family members may enter the country and live with you. Dutch Muslims cunningly arrange marriages abroad to increase their population in their home communities. No wonder Amsterdam is now more than half non-Dutch.
By the way, Supreme Court Chief Justice Aharon Barak wants to adopt Europe’s family reunification laws to permit Palestinian Arabs to unite with their Israeli Arab spouses, even though these Palestinian Arabs are at war with Israel, and despite the warnings of security officials that 20% of these incoming Arabs commit terrorist acts. Dhimmitude is creeping over Israel. Remember, Barak quashed the indictments of Arab MKs who incited Israeli Arabs to emulate terrorists. These Arabs preach sedition and are well-paid by the government for their efforts.
Speaking of being well-paid: the four British-born Muslims responsible for last year’s London terrorists attacks had raked in more than half a million pounds in welfare benefits from the British government. In Denmark, Muslims make up 5% of the population but receive 40% of the welfare outlays. This is largely a result of the ideology of “victimhood” propagated by European academics. Europeans are taught that Arabs are not responsible for their crimes—not even suicide bombings— because they have long been the victims of Western colonialism and American capitalism. We need to understand and have dialogue with these poor, little Arabs
So Europe is steeped in self-inflicted dhimmitude. It’s estimated that a majority of Europe’s population will be Muslim within one or two generations. Some say the process is irreversible because of Europe’s low birthrate and resulting need to import foreign labor—mostly Arabs.
We must bear in mind, however, that this Arabized Europe is committed to Israel’s territorial shrinkage and demise. This is why Olmert’s tour of Europe to obtain support for his territorial withdrawal from Judea and Samaria qualifies him as a “useful idiot.” I don’t think I will be indicted for insulting a public official.
