The people in power want to be in power, period. If they do it as "the Vatican" or something else is immaterial.

Muslim immigration to Latin America has only just begun. But it will accelerate. Already, US stooges such as Hugo Chavez are promoting conversion of Latin America's poor to Islam (so-called "revolutionary Islam")
The Vatican is a tool.
It will be used so long as it is useful.
It will not be preserved for its own sake, just like the pagan religions of Rome weren't.
