Gates Promises Allies Anti-NK Nuclear Umbrella
Reuters reports:U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Thursday that North Korea poses a threat to his country's allies in North Asia and promised to protect them under the U.S. nuclear deterrent.
Gates, on a visit to Seoul, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington, said a day earlier the United States would never tolerate a nuclear-armed North Korea, as Pyongyang in recent weeks has indicated it could return to stalled disarmament discussions. [ID:nN21495767].
"The United States will continue to provide extended deterrence using the full range of military capabilities including the nuclear umbrella to ensure ROK security," Gates said in a meeting with the South's defence chief. South Korea's official name is the Republic of Korea.

Gold confiscation is an increasingly important issue--ignored by mainstream media, naturally--for serious investors in the precious metal. U.S. investors seeking a wealth safe haven as the dollar declines in value--and threatens to totally collapse--are concerned that President Barack Obama will eventually resort to gold confiscation.
One analyst puts it this way: "When the world dumps the dollar and it is no longer the world’s reserve currency it will be worth nothing and the government will have no other choice but to confiscate precious metal to operate and stay in control."
There is a historical precedent. In 1933, in order to stabilize the monetary system, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, under Executive Order No. 6102, confiscated all privately owned gold in the United States.

U.S. President Obama had ample time to prepare for the pandemic--the biggest pandemic in two generations. Apparently, he was too busy making media appearances and accomplishing ... nothing.
Nothing of value to ordinary Americans, that is.
But ... plenty that is of value to Islamist sympathizers and stooges and their Iranian and Islamist masters.
America's first Muslim-born (according to Islamist law) President is a tool and a total disaster, a one-termer certain to be remembered as worse than the catastrophic Carter.
