1. Gardasil Vaccine - Adverse Reactions And Deaths Require Federal Investigation
The list of local teens who believe they have experienced adverse reactions to the Gardasil vaccine has grown, with two sisters from Sandwich reporting medical problems following their shots. "By midnight, Brianna was barely breathing," says her mother, Mary Beth O'Brien. Brianna's older sister Annie also developed health problems following a Gardasil shot. A growing number of young women are joining the ranks of 'Gardasil Girls', young women who believe they have been injured by the Merck vaccine. Barbara Loe Fisher of the nonprofit National Vaccine Information Center says there are enough adverse reactions to the Gardasil vaccine to warrant a federal investigation. Fisher has asked Congress and federal health agencies to look into VAERS reports that more than 3,000 young women have been harmed by the vaccine and 48 have died.

2. FDA Warning: Use of Depakote Risks Birth Defects
Ever so quietly, without media notice, the FDA issued a major warning about Abbot's anticonvulsant, anti-epileptic, Depakote. The drug "increased the risk of neural tube defects and other major birth defects, such as craniofacial defects and cardiovascular malformations, in babies exposed to valproate sodium and related products during pregnancy." Yet, throughout the US, psychiatrists are prescribing--and encouraging family physicians to prescribe--psychoactive drugs to pregnant women despite mounting evidence that these drugs--including SSRI antidepressants, anticonvulsants and antipsychotics-- not only cause harm to those who ingest them, but cause birth defects as well.

3. UK Social Workers Snatch Toddler To Enforce Junk Food Regime
Taken into care: Zak Hessey was placed in a
foster home for four months because his parents
refused advice to feed him junk food
Like many toddlers, Zak Hessey was a fussy eater who refused his mother's healthy home cooking. Concerned about his falling weight, his parents sought the advice of doctors. Paul and Lisa Hessey believe in the long-term benefits of healthy eating and rejected advice to feed their two-year-old son high-calorie snack food such as chocolate, crisps and cakes. That simple act triggered a shocking chain of events. Social workers put Zak into foster care 'to assess his needs' and threatened the couple with the loss of their parental rights if they fought the decision in court. Zak’s eating problems were not cured by his time in the care of 'experts' and, much to the annoyance of his parents, he has acquired a taste for junk food. Lisa Hessey, Zak's Mum, said: "That is obviously what they were doing when he was in foster care so now it is hard to get him to eat anything else." Zak returned home following a third court hearing on November 18.

4. Lyndonville Doctor To Speak On XMRV Retrovirus And Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
Dr David S. Bell, a long-time practicing physician and researcher from Lyndonville in Orleans County, will be giving a public lecture at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn in Batavia. He will explain some of the new discoveries surrounding the XMRV retrovirus and its relationship to chronic fatigue syndrome, myalgic encephalomyelitis and fibromyalgia. This is the same retrovirus that has been linked to prostate cancer. It is now 25 years since the original outbreak of CFS in Lyndonville, and Dr. Bell and the Lyndonville Research Group are tracking down the 60 children who became ill at that time. They are hoping to find out what has happened to them since their 15-year follow-up study was published in 2001.

5. Are UK Claimants At Risk From Assessment Rip-Off?
We reveal just how much those UK doctors and nurses are making from the British taxpayer for creating ESA, DLA and IB medical reports. From what we’ve learnt, it seems safe to assume that Atos assessors won’t be shopping at Iceland this Christmas. Harrods, on the other hand, may need to get in a few extra hampers. In a not unrelated story we look at the problems caused by the DWP carrying out assessments much later than they should be. Are taxpayers being ripped-off and claimants being put at risk? The answer is yes.
