We have recently heard the statement “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste… an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” (Rahm Emanuel in a Wall Street Journal interview) But this is not that surprising for anyone who has spent any time studying government or history. Government, any government, will take any opportunity to secure power and position. There have been more acts of tyranny enacted by governments under the banner of crisis, or public safety, welfare, betterment of society, etc. than all other “reasoning.”........

If we were really serious about making airline travel safer, we would immediately cease and desist from this incessant infatuation with meddling into the internal affairs of foreign countries, stop invading and occupying foreign countries, and stop our own State Department and CIA from sticking their noses where they don't belong--which only serves to agitate the world against us. We'd stop giving out travel visas to people from countries sympathetic to terrorists; seal the US border........

Of course, the people were allowed the illusion of freedom by telling them they did not have to engage in such service, but that their admission to higher education and their obtainment of employment were dependent upon their performing this service.
