The Government spent more than £1 billion in preparation for a flu pandemic, it has been disclosed. Health minister Gillian Merron said spending to date on "pandemic influenza preparedness - not swine flu specific" was about £500 million. "Additional spend committed around the time of the start of the swine flu pandemic takes the amount to over £1 billion," she said in a Commons written reply to Labour's Paul Flynn. In another written reply, Ms Merron said nearly 29 million doses of swine flu vaccine had been delivered to the UK by January but refused to put a cost on them as it would "violate confidentiality clauses" with the makers. 2. Swiss Issue Warning On Novartis Swine Flu Vaccine & Autoimmune Diseases
ZURICH (Reuters) - Switzerland's medical regulator recommended patients with serious autoimmune diseases should not use an H1N1 flu vaccine from Novartis, saying there were no studies assessing the inoculation in that population. Swissmedic said on Wednesday it could not be ruled out that either or both of the adjuvant -- which can enhance the immune response -- and the antigen, or less active ingredient, could lead to an intensifying of autoimmune diseases. Novartis was not immediately available to comment.

3. Stillbirth Heartbreak After Swine Flu Jab
A 37-year-old woman's child was stillborn on Tuesday - just weeks after she received a vaccination against human swine flu (H1N1). A spokesman for the Centre for Health Protection said cases of stillbirths following swine flu vaccinations have also been recorded overseas.

One reason that there are fewer deaths is that most swine flu is milder than seasonal flu. The WHO bureaucrats hype swine flu because it inflates their self-worth.

6. Fury As Mum Is Jailed For Ending Son's Coma Hell
Frances Inglis and her son Tom
Relatives of a distraught mum who killed her brain-damaged son to end his "living hell" last night demanded a change in the law after she was jailed for murder. Frances Inglis was told she must serve at least nine years for injecting 22-year-old Tom with a lethal dose of heroin because she could not bear to see him in a coma. Her furious family blasted the life sentence and insisted the 57-year-old trainee nurse acted out of kindness. Eldest son Alex, 26, called for mercy killings to be dealt with under separate laws to murder. The family had thought of applying for a court ruling to allow Tom to die in hospital, but decided against it as it meant stopping food and water, starving him to death.
