Al Qaeda Hails Attack on CIA Base
It is only a matter of time--days or weeks--before Islamist appeasers in the media call for an end to the drone strikes.More Upsetting News About Failure to Stop Islamist Terrorist From Attacking US Airliner on Christmas
The LA Times reports:Even if U.S. border enforcement officials had learned of the Nigerian's alleged extremist links in time, it is not clear the intelligence was strong enough to cause Dutch officials to search him or block him from flying, officials said. The threshold for requiring a foreign visitor to undergo special scrutiny upon arrival in the United States is considerably lower than criteria for preventing him from getting on the plane overseas, according to current and former law enforcement officials. That is why border enforcement officials rely heavily on terrorism watch lists, officials said.
"The public isn't aware how many people are allowed to travel through the U.S. who are linked, who intersect with bad guys or alleged bad guys," a national security official said. "It makes sense from an intelligence perspective. If they are not considered dangerous, it provides intelligence on where they go, who they meet with."

Poorly Sourced NY Times Article Purportedly Exposes CIA Plan for Penetrating Al Qaeda
The article cites only anonymous sources, which is alright for a newsletter, or a blog (like China Confidential, for example), but unacceptable for a leading national newspaper, especially when reporting on such an important story as a deadly attack on an American intelligence agency.
At best, the article makes the CIA appear inept and amateurish, and thus emboldens and encourages the enemy; at worst, the story exposes a plan that probably should have remained a secret, even if it went terribly wrong.
Accurate or not, it is difficult to see what good, if any, can come from publishing the piece, particularly, in the attack's aftermath.Again, China Disappoints US on Iran Issue

Both the Bush and the Obama administrations failed to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons--and to influence China into ending or weakening its troubling alliance with Iran. Driven mainly by an insatiable need for energy, rising China, despite having problems with its own restive Muslim population--and strong trade ties to Israel--has time and again disappointed the United States and its allies regarding radical Islam.
U.S. support for Muslim Uighur separatists has not helped matters. The Chinese leadership believes that the U.S. still seeks to exploit political Islam in order to contain China's economic and political ascent.Tuesday, January 05, 2010
