From about midway you will hear Edwin Black who wrote IBM and the Holocaust talking about how IBM helped Hitler from 1933 with a census using punched card and magnetic readers. I have related this in a paper to the cynical involvement of IBM (and other of course) with the 'European Project', through helping the European Movement get off the ground in the late 1940s. As an aside it was Hitler's banker who Herman Abs who started the European Movement in Germany at about the same time.
All this was obtained from Francois Xavier Rabattet's thesis on the European Movement (1945 - 1953) - copies available.
It makes you wonder what questions we are to be required to answer in next years census.
From a three quarters of the way through the broadcast you will here about the now infamous Hollie case in Aberdeen.
