Britain's MPs - Criminal Prosecutions And Failure To Repay

Disgraced Pharma Rep Dr Ian Gibson MP -
Where is the taxpayers' money?
(

It has been announced today that three Labour MPs (Elliot Morley, Jim Devine, David Chaytor) and one Conservative Peer (Lord Hanningfield) have had criminal charges laid against them for taxpayer fraud under the Theft Act which could see the four spending up to seven years in jail. Hundreds of MPs have been ordered to repay a total of £1.12 million. The activities of our elected representatives criminally cocooned by a risible culture of deference have irrevocably tarnished Britain. More than a dozen former MPs have failed to repay over-claimed expenses, raising the prospect that the money will never be recovered. Pharma Rep Dr Ian Gibson MP was ordered to repay £16,025 but has yet to do so. This is the scandal that was so purposefully wiped off the front pages of the newspapers by the government-orchestrated Swine Flu Panic, another outbreak of criminal government incompetence prompted by the pharmaceutical industry that has cost the electorate billions.<>

Swine Flu Scandal - UK Government Squandered Billions

Billions of pounds have been wasted on
swine flu vaccines that will never be used

Ministers said yesterday the flu hotline and website that make up the National Pandemic Flu Service will be closed from next week. As the NHS was taken off red alert, questions were asked over why so many doses of the vaccine were ordered but never used. Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said:
“It beggars belief that they could have signed so many massive contracts with such a flawed assessment of the threat.” So far, the cost of the drugs has remained a secret but some estimates suggest the vaccines could have cost as much as £9 a dose, with a total bill of more than £1billion. Dr Wolfgang Wodarg, the council’s head of health, said the swine flu saga was a medical scandal, adding: “We had a mild flu and a false pandemic."

UK DNA Database Is Causing Suicides, MPs Are Warned

DNA from innocent people should not be kept
on the DNA database, Sir Alec Jeffreys has warned

Keeping profiles of the innocent on the DNA database causes immense distress and has even led to suicide, the pioneer of fingerprinting technology warned MPs yesterday. Sir Alec Jeffreys, who invented the use of DNA to fight crime, said storing these records could lead to 'an unfair presumption of guilt'. Sir Alec said: 'I want the balance to be struck. I have not heard anything about the rights of the innocent victim, and the distress at being branded a criminal. Innocent people on the database are being used inefficiently to solve future crimes - and that goes against their civil rights. I want to get rid of the DNA of innocent people from the database, it is as simple as that.'
