Yeo! Tory Policy Confusion, Lie Action Replay

Yeo Guy NewsSunday was the 404th anniversary of Guy Fawkes' death.  Monday night was livened up by Newsnight More Exciting" style="FONT-WEIGHT: normal; COLOR: #800000; TEXT-DECORATION: underline" href="http://order-order.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=84f2eb51bf3db29fcbf92aaf0&id=ce1bdf0b3b&e=74b4c85539" rel="bookmark">Kirsty Making Newsnight More Exciting. Tuesday Guido popped over to Osborne's benchmark launch, Cameron was in the audience, Clarke, Willets, Villiers and Teasy May were on the platform.  No one was interested in anything but getting some detail out of Osborne.  No dice, so a bit of a waste of time for everyone.  Wednesday it was over to Queen Anne's Gate to hear the Spectator's Fraser Nelson make the case for something worth winning

Thursday was Legg review day and what a lot we got.  Legg has done a good job - MPs like to highlight the errors but on the whole he has stood up to the troughers.  Thursday afternoon Newsnight call, would I do the disco with Tony Wright and Tim Yeo on expenses?  I know Tony Wright is a straight bat, but Yeo is a bit of smooth spiv.  Had a quick search of the newly released room booking data.  A couple of interesting bookings popped up when seen in the context of Yeo's commercial interests.  It got a bit lively on screen when I brought up the issues on air.  Yeo lost it.  Poor Gavin Esler looked nervous - wishing he hadn't given me the opening to go for the jugular.  Off camera Yeo ranted about Carter-Ruck and managed to get Esler to "clarify" later in the show that Yeo denied the allegation of a conflict of interest.  Still no sign of a writ from him but he did succeed in getting Newsnight to pull the show from the iPlayer.  If you missed it we have the highlights on Guy News.

Friday morning brought good news, criminal charges for troughing MPsTime for a celebration.
