LORD PEARSON UNVEILS UKIP ELECTION STRATEGY

Tuesday, 13th April 2010

UKIP’s top straight-talking politicians today introduced the most statesmanlike strategy seen in recent British electioneering.

Speaking at the party’s official manifesto launch in Westminster, Party Leader Lord Pearson explained how UKIP would be actively supporting committed Eurosceptic candidates from other parties and not standing against them.

Lord Pearson explained that it was part of his belief that the needs of the county must come above party politics. To illustrate his point, the Party Leader revealed the election address for UKIP’s candidate in Stroud, Steve Parker, who has used the mailout to urge voters to vote for Labour’s David Drew.

Also speaking at the event was UKIP deputy leader and head of policy, David Campbell Bannerman MEP, who outlined details of the Party’s 17 common sense policies.

Explaining how UKIP could no longer be seen as a single-issue party, he reiterated the pledges to spend an extra 40% on defence and to double the number of prison places.

The manifesto has already attracted the attention of every major national media outlet and UKIP head office staff say they have been inundated with calls supporting the Party’s election pledges.
