Have only just got around to watching this video and recognised the so-called Senator immediately as being John Clarke who was born in NZ and commenced his 'career' in the 60s or 70s as Fred Dagg, a black-singlet gumboot-wearing New Zealand farmer. This is very definitely a comedy act, taking the p*** out of Australian politicians (any politician). He moved to Australia some 20+ years ago because obviously there is a bigger audience there. One of his long-running series in that country was a a spoof of Brideshead Revisited which he named Pigshead Revisited.
