Susan Jane Nye (born 1953, Poole) is the Director of Government Relations and former diary secretary to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Nye's friendship with Tony Blair's political secretary Anji Hunter provided a back channel between the warring factions during Blair's premiership. Sue was accused by Labour supporters of passing confidential information on to the Conservative Party in 2009. This was denied. Sue Nye is the person to whom Gordon Brown refers in the Gillian Duffy Rochdale gaffe incident during the 2010 election campaign. She married Gavyn Davies, the former BBC chairman, in Islington in August 1989. She lives in Wandsworth, with a second home in Devon. They have two sons (born April 1995 and July 1998) and a daughter (born March 1990).Sue Nye
