Watching Brown giving his leaving speech, and subsequently speaking at Labour HQ to the troops, brought a tear to my eye. I was thinking that here was a decent man, a bit misguided perhaps, but essentially a family man of sound morals. For a moment I felt sorry for him.
Then I thought nah, he’s an evil bastard and he should fuck off and die somewhere.
