Bibi not yet agreed on Israeli sucide -

Sen Mitchell/Obama FRUSTRATED
by Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu isn't stalling when he says that the
borders Israel can accept are a function of the arrangements on the ground.
He is being serious about coming up with a deal that survives beyond the
photo op.

Senator George Mitchell, on the other hand, is from the camp that
religiously believes that permanent peace can be secured by a Kodak moment.

And that's the friendly take on his position, since the alternative is that
he frankly isn't particularly concerned if Israel faces a catastrophe after
the deal is implemented. What counts is that President Obama gets his photo
on the White House Lawn in a signing ceremony.

Senator Mitchell wants Netanyahu to give him a map with a line on it so that
he can slam Netanyahu for not being generous enough and then pull out his
pen and draw another line on the map as America's suggestion.

The American suggestion will then become. That's right. Effectively
Israel's opening position when facing the Palestinians.

And - given the possibility that the talks will fail and the Palestinians
opt for the creation of a state without Israel's agreement - the
Palestinians will have a map in their hands that shows borders President
Obama has already endorsed.

And all this before we have any idea as to what the arrangements are on the
ground.
