SAINT NELSON...

Today is the day when the World Cup in South Africa kicks off. The BBC has gone into hype overdrive - and in that regard is no different from any other TV broadcaster. But I am already sick of the worship of Mandela and Tutu that has gone on before a ball has been kicked. I appreciate that these two figures are totemic for the political left and the opportunity was not going to be missed to praise them even more but not everyone holds them in high esteem. I think the BBC is deliberately embroiling politics into the sporting event (If you can call football "sport") and advancing it's own Nelson-worship. I also caught a BBC item yesterday with Hugh Maskela in which he claimed that blacks in South Africa was still being denied. By whom? By the ANC? No. Maskela was hinting at the race card and the BBC let him away with it.

NOTHING LIKE A SINNER WHO REPENTS...

The BBC must love it when one of their liberal Jewish journalists takes the opportunity to plunge the knife into Israel. Tim Frank plays the role perfectlyhere.. Franks is clear; Israelis are dysfunctional, shameful, forcing a 'blackness' over the 'occupied territories'. Palestinians get all the sympathy, Israelis all the blame. Fair and balanced?

BLESSED ARE THE GREENIES...

Even as the Eurozone threatens to fall apart and member states go essentially bankrupt, the EU has much more important matters to be concentraing on - I refer to adopting EVEN stricter targets for carbon emission! Chris Huhne was on Today this morning insisting that AGW is the single biggest threat to mankind and that the EU must proceed, unilaterally, to an increase in the EU emissions reduction target from 20 to 30 per cent by 2020.” He was given a VERY easy ride by Justin Webb and was allowed to spout the usual eco-wacko nonsense without any challenge. Naturally there was no voice on to oppose this EU madness. I suspect Huhne will be member of the Coalition government that the BBC will go easy on - his swivel-eyed advocacy of the Green agenda virtually ensures that.

HOW EVIL ARE BP?

BP: BARACK'S PATSY
The BBC in full synchronised cry with Obama regarding the evils of BP. The game seems to be one of proving how poor BP have behaved so far, then daring Cameron to kick Obama's ass. In all of this, there is a visceral hatred of a successful once British company and a desire to somehow socialise "Big Oil" by "spreadin' some of that wealth around." It seems the BBC approves of the idea that BP profits should fund all those US businesses whose profits may have been affected by the Gulf oil spill. The commercial madness of this seems to pass them by but then again since the BBC exists by parasitically feeding of us, maybe it feels this is the best model to follow?
