Academies Bill - Update and prayer request

Following Baroness Massey’s unsuccessful attempt to make PSHE (including sex education) a curriculum requirement for all Academies, Ed Balls made a further attempt to make it a requirement on 21 July.

Thank you to all CCFON supporters who acted on this matter, as the amendment, which was put to the vote on Ed Balls’ behalf, was defeated by 114 votes. If passed, all future Academies including primary schools would have had to have provided compulsory sex education.

Please keep this Bill and the upcoming national curriculum review in your prayers. In particular, please pray that the Government will allow a full public consultation on the curriculum review.
