1. WikiLeaks Changes Course Of Afghan War - Multiple Atrocities Exposed
WikiLeaks has released over 75,000 secret US military reports covering the war in Afghanistan. The Afghan War Diary an extraordinary secret compendium of over 91,000 reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010. The reports describe the majority of lethal military actions involving the United States military. They include the number of persons internally stated to be killed, wounded, or detained during each action, together with the precise geographical location of each event, and the military units involved and major weapon systems used. The Afghan War Diary is the most significant archive about the reality of war to have ever been released during the course of a war. The deaths of tens of thousands is normally only a statistic but the archive reveals the locations and the key events behind each most of these deaths. We hope its release will lead to a comprehensive understanding of the war in Afghanistan and provide the raw ingredients neces sary to change its course.

2. Ms Penny Mellor, The BMJ, The GMC And Vaccine Damaged Children
I am no longer astonished about what happens in this country within the so called Regulatory bodies and in the world of so called Child Protection. However, I do want to express an opinion about this General Medical Council (GMC) Panel as it so happens that I am in a unique position to do so - yet this is my third attempt to get a response published by the BMJ. I have long called for an Inquiry into what has gone wrong within Child Protection - since 1996 actually after I was an Expert Witness alongside Dr David Southall in a case he called MSBP. When Ms Mellor appeared literally from nowhere some considerable time later, as a "housewife" with seven children and an interest in MSBP, she seemed able to get an inquiry off the ground - not into MSBP but into Dr Southall. Ms Mellor seemed hell bent on making sure she was seen to be the only voice for the parents and any other attempts by others were thwarted. To this day I don't know why, thou gh clues may lie in the fact that she publicly defended Sir Roy Meadow when it was discovered through FOI that he had been on the Adverse Reactions to Vaccination and Immunisation sub committee of the JCVI. A leading journalist, who, like many others, had been shocked by the Sally Clark case, began to put two and two together - was MSBP a cover up for vaccination adverse reactions and maybe other iatrogenic damage? If so, why would a "housewife" claiming to be on the side of falsely accused parents (many of whom had children whose illnesses began after a vaccine) want to deny that possibility just as Sir Roy himself did in the Clark case? Why is it NEVER considered as part of the differential diagnosis? Who was she protecting? It wasn't the children who reacted to vaccine whose parents were destroyed by false allegations of MSBP. This clearly biased GMC Panel is surely doomed before it gets going. Instead of yet another biased panel issuing biased advice, isn't it about time we had a Public Inquiry into what has been going on and who, medical, lay and legal, has been advising the so called Regulatory bodies, the professions and the Government over the last decade or so, and the exact nature of the advice. For the sake of the children all hidden agendas need to be exposed.

3. Ms. Mellor's Offence Involving A Child Counts For GMC Nothing?

Were I to have been convicted of the same offence as Mrs Mellor, i.e. conspiracy to abduct a child, I would be struck off and never work again. It is difficult to imagine subsequently being invited to sit on a GMC panel looking into related issues. Was there really no-one else suitably qualified and available, who hasn't served time in jail for an offence involving a child?

4. Sudden Deaths After Unsafe Pentavalent Vaccine
I am a member of the group that filed the petition against the Pentavalent vaccine in the Delhi High Court. I could not sign the earlier letter to the BMJ as I was out of the country. I write to endorse that letter and also to provide new data on the deaths following Pentavalent vaccination in Asia; in Pakistan and Bhutan. There have been 3 deaths in Pakistan and 8 deaths in Bhutan following Pentavalent vaccination, besides the deaths in Sri Lanka. It seems that no effort has been made to follow the WHO protocol for classification of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) in Pakistan or Bhutan. All the cases of sudden death following vaccination would have been classified as ‘Very likely’ or ‘Probably’ related to the vaccine if the standard AEFI classification were employed. This large cluster of ‘sudden death’ in Asia, following immunization with Pentavalent vaccine needs to be investigated dispassionately before more lives are lost.

5. Taxpayers Indemnify Pharma Giant Against Swine Flu Vaccine Legal Action
TAXPAYERS have indemnified pharmaceutical giant CSL against any lawsuits flowing from the swine flu vaccine. The Therapeutic Goods Administration yesterday confirmed CSL was indemnified as health authorities continue to probe a discolouration affecting the national stockpile. "There are indemnity arrangements for the pandemic flu vaccine, as with all pandemic flu vaccine arrangements around the world, and these are commercial in confidence," a TGA spokeswoman said yesterday. "They were agreed to by the previous government when the contract for the purchase was set in train." The Rudd government paid CSL $9 million to conduct clinical trials of the Panvax vaccine last year, before awarding the company a $131m contract to supply the nation's stockpile of 21 million doses. The indemnity is listed in this year's federal budget papers as an "unquantifiable contingent liability". The TGA spokeswoman yesterday said the indemnity did not apply to CSL's controversial seasonal flu shot, which was suspended for use in healthy children younger than five this year after it triggered febrile fits at nine times the usual rate. The Australian revealed last week that TGA audits found deficiencies in 136 of the 139 Australian pharmaceutical laboratories it checked in the past year. Australian National University professor of infectious diseases and microbiology Peter Collignon yesterday called on the federal government to ensure future pharmaceutical contracts were more transparent. "We really need to know what the profit margin is on this," Professor Collignon said.

7. FDA Wants Investigation Into Dr David Capuzzi Avandia Conflict

NEW YORK - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has asked the Department of Health and Human Services to investigate whether one of the panellists at a recent safety meeting on the GlaxoSmithKline PLC drug Avandia had a conflict of interest, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. David Capuzzi, an endocrinologist in Philadelphia, has received $14,000 from Glaxo for speaking on behalf of another drug, Lovaza, according to the newspaper report. Capuzzi said he told the FDA about his connection to Glaxo and the FDA said it had vetted all members of its advisory panel for conflicts, the newspaper reported.

8. Supreme Court Grants Lyme Disease Autopsy
A Sydney woman has been awarded a Supreme Court injunction to have her dead husband tested for a disease the Health Department says does not exist in Australia. Mualla Akinci's husband, Karl McManus, died last Wednesday - three years after he was bitten by a tick she says carried Lyme disease, a bacterial infection which, if left untreated, can cause profound neurological damage. Mr McManus was diagnosed with multifocal neuropathy after testing negative for Lyme disease, but Ms Akinci, a pharmacist, insisted he be tested again at clinics in the US and Germany. Both tests returned positive for Lyme disease. She argues that Australian tests are inadequate because pathologists look for antibodies in the blood, rather than for proteins in specific bacteria within tissue. The Health Department maintains that no case has been transmitted in Australia and the organisms that cause it - three species of the genus borrelia - are not carried here by wildlife, livest ock or their parasites. ''Westmead Hospital [where most testing is performed] categorically says there are no Lyme organisms in Australia, but a significant number of people certainly look like they have the signs and symptoms,'' Associate Professor Roberts said. His view is supported by Peter Mayne, a GP from Laurieton who says he has 12 patients with the disease. Western blot testing, the standard used in Australia for 25 years, missed most cases because patients on antibiotics did not have antibodies to the disease, he said.

9. The Killing Fields Of Multi-National Corporations
The Bhopal gas tragedy was the worst industrial disaster in human history. Twenty-five thousand people died, 500,000 were injured, and the injustice done to the victims of Bhopal over the past 25 years will go down as the worst case of jurisprudence ever. It was, in fact, because of the Bhopal gas tragedy and the tragedy of extremist violence in Punjab that I woke up to the fact that agriculture had become a war zone. Pesticides are war chemicals that kill — every year 220,000 people are killed by pesticides worldwide. Injustice for Bhopal has been used to tell corporations that they can get away with murder. Lawrence Summers, who was the World Bank’s chief economist and is now chief economic adviser to the Obama government, in a memo dated December 12, 1991, to senior World Bank staff, wrote, “Just between you and me, shouldn’t the World Bank be encouraging more migration of the dirty industries to the less developed countries ?” Since wages are low in the Third World, economic costs of pollution arising from increased illness and death are least in the poorest countries. According to Mr Summers, the logic “of relocation of pollutants in the lowest wage country is impeccable and we should face up to that”. All this and Bhopal must teach us to reclaim our universal and common humanity and build an Earth Democracy in which all are equal, and corporations are not allowed to get away with crimes against people and the planet.

10. IMC Support For Australian Vaccination Network
The International Medical Council on Vaccination and its affiliated doctors, scientists and concerned organizations would like to convey our strong support for the work of the Australian Vaccination Network (AVN) and condemn the attempts an Australian government body is making to censor and suppress their work. The AVN seems to be the target of Australia's New South Wales Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC). International Medical Council on Vaccination, having knowledge of the AVN, strongly defends the AVN against the HCCC's claims. It is absurd that the HCCC would suggest that the AVN has any obligation to convey information whatsoever to "balance" AVN's own research and activities. Organizations operating in free societies must never be held to forced expectations such as these. IMCV condemns any censoring of information - or even opinion - AVN wishes to convey whatsoever.
