To all:

A friend of mine just penned this short introduction to a video you must watch. Some may have seen it, as it circulated on the web last week. Nevertheless it should be watched and forwarded to all who have any interest in Israel and are concerned by the actions, not words or photo-ops of forced smiles –as to the direction of U.S.-Israel relations.

PLEASE WATCH and FORWARD.

Subject: Dr. Richard L. Rubinstein, Harvard PhD, Yale fellow, "Distinguished Professor of the Year" issues a warning...

As a member of the Jewish community, I have trouble explaining the bad treatment Israel is receiving from our Administration. It is clear that the friendly relationship between the United States and Israel has changed. For me, photo-ops of handshaking and speeches are no longer enough. I need to see concrete actions. Dr. Richard Rubenstein has something to say that every Jewish person in America needs to hear. This video interview was sent to me by a fellow Jew who asked that I forward it to others. I normally would not do that, but this issue is so important to us, regardless of our respective political affiliation. We need to have our voices heard.

You may recall that during his campaign, former Sen. Barack Obama told the pro-Israel lobby the American Israel Public Affairs Committee that he would be a strong ally of the Jewish state. As such, he repeated one of the talking points AIPAC always likes to hear, that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided." Has his position changed? When Hamas and the PA immediately balked, Obama backtracked. In his interview with CNN, when asked whether Palestinians had no future claim to the city, he said, "well, obviously, it's going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues. And Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations." Rhetoric will not save Israel.

Growing up during and after WWII, I had many family members who fled Eastern Europe and other who were holocaust survivors. These were people who were so comfortably integrated in European society, that they could not fathom what ultimately happened to their families. Could something like that happen again? Dr Rubenstein delivers a wake-up call for American Jewry - the survival of Israel is closely tied to the fate of the Jewish people around the world.

Dr. Richard L. Rubinstein, author of "Jihad and Genocide", Harvard PhD, Yale fellow, "Distinguished Professor of the Year", states that president Obama's intention is to "correct the historical mistake of the creation of the state of Israel." You can learn more about Dr. Rubinstein at the following Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jihad_and_Genocide

After retiring from medicine, I completed additional graduate work in disaster management and have deployed to several significant domestic disasters as a federal disaster provider. Unfortunately little can be done to prevent a natural disaster such as, an earthquake, flood, tornado or hurricane. We can only mitigate the effects by strengthening our structures/buildings and preparing our communities. On the other hand, with man-made disasters we have many options. It starts with being aware and includes being able to react to prevent a problem.

The scenario that Dr. Rubinstein describes a potential disaster that should at a minimum raise our awareness and cause us to expect more from our President, not just promises regarding the future well being of the State of Israel.

Thanks for listening.
