BBBC ON BBC ALERT

>> Saturday, August 14, 2010

Just to remind you that myself and my Biased BBC colleague Hippiepooter will be live via videolink on the BBC1 Sunday Morning Live programme starting at 10am (I think). They want to talk about "torture" and whether it is ever justified? I want to talk about how the media is the Jihadists greatest asset. We shall see how we get on.

The allegation of "torture" from captured Islamic Jihadists is simply that - an unproven allegation right out of the Al Queda guidebook for gaining the interest of gullible media outlets. If we want to discuss torture, let's talk about the unbelievable torture carried out by Islamic killers. Of course robust and lawful interrogation of any terrorist is something of which I fully appprove if it can save innocent lives. It is insulting to insinuate that our professionals in the military would use unlawful practises and of course the very discussion diverts attention away from those who throw grenades into vehicles containing defenceless women, those who decapitate and video their savagery. The essence of the discusson is to distract attention from a broader issue - why do we not focus on the torturers and killers who do so in the name of Islam.

GLOBAL CULTURE UNDER TORY ATTACK!

I don't mean to be disrespectful to Scotland but I notice the BBC states as a matter of fact that "The Edinburgh International Festival is a pinnacle of global culture." Is this true? Really? BBC then goes on to point out that this "pinnacle of global culture" may be under threat because of the evil Coalition cuts. Say it ain't so and only put one point of view.

OBAMA AND THE MOSQUE

BBC praising for his cringing endorsement of the Mosque close to Ground Zero. I'm hearing rumours it will be called the "Atta Centre for Peace and Reconciliation"....

THE FINEST CHANCELLOR WE EVER HAD.

Anyone catch the FAWNING interview with Alistair Darling on Today this morning 8.30am (no link yet, they are sooo slow) It appears that Darling was in fact an economic guru and he saved us from the worst of the recession which, of course, started in America. The BBC are revising history to make us think that the Darling years were the golden years and now the wicked Coalition is undoing all the good work he wrought on our behalf. Vote Labour, pip pip.

OPEN THREAD...

>> Friday, August 13, 2010

As the weekend beckons, I reckon we will need one of these! Hope you can tune in to Sunday Morning Live on BBC1 and you will see if I can counter BBC pro-Jihad apologia...I will certainly try.

"Blah Blah Climate Change Blah Blah"

As has been pointed out in the open thread this morning's edition of Today went pretty big on a Cambridge academic planning to study the language and culture of the Inughuit. By using the magic words "climate change" and "global warming", not only has Dr Stephen Leonard secured funding for a year-long gig in Greenland, he also earned himself a couple of slots on Radio 4's flagship news programme talking to both James Naughtie and science correspondent Victoria Gill (@1hr 07.25). Gill's segment reminded me of something:

Special Situation

I’ve been alerted to this BBC story about the arrest of serial killer Elias Abuelazam who was stopped at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport as he tried to board a flight to Israel. What particularly concerned the tipster was that though the BBC must have been keen to tell us what sort of man he was because they headline the article “Israeli man held at airport over US serial stabbings” they haven’t followed through with another detail that would have provided an even more accurate picture. Because this is just not any Israeli man, this is a specially selected, ethnically specific, succulent and delicious, Israeli Arab man.

This species is practically unknown to mankind! Or more specifically, not just any mankind; the mankind that subscribes to the theory that Arabs were ethnically cleansed from Israel in 1948, the run-of-the-mill, ubiquitous, man-on-the-Clapham-omnibus, BBC-listening mankind.

I am a diligent opponent of bias, so I looked at hundreds of other articles on this to see if the BBC was alone in omitting this arguably crucial fact, and I found that it was not.

Most of the US press omitted it too. From my rigourously scientific scrutiny only abcnews and Wikipedia actually said he was an Israeli-Arab, and msnb said his mother’s name was Iyam al-Azzam, a bit of a give-away. Far down in the story Journal News says he comes from Ramla, a “mixed Arab-Israeli working-class district,” which I took to be a small clue.

So is it unfair to expect the BBC to include this teeny detail in its report?
Well, for one thing most of his victims were black, so race, or ethnicity has crept in tangentially.
Also, in the US, Jew- Arab sensitivities might be less heightened than in the UK. In Israel it seems it’s not an issue. Jerusalem Post has:

“The Israeli citizen arrested in Atlanta late Wednesday for allegedly murdering five people and injuring many more has been identified as Elias Abuelazam, 33.
Police believe the attacks were racially motivated.
Abuelazam was arrested while attempting to board a flight from Atlanta to Tel Aviv.”

So, should the BBC have mentioned something that others didn’t, just because of perceived sensitivities surrounding the BBC’s relationship with Israel, bias, impartiality, and truth?

SHILLING FOR APPEASEMENT

Again, the BBC is to the fore in promulgating appeasement of terrorism. Just the other morning it provided Jonathan Powell with the prime-time platform to advocate that "we" should be talking to the Taliban and Al Queda. This morning it provided a platform to Peter Taylor and Eamon McCann to pontificate on the claim by IRA leader Machine Gun McGuinness that the Government is talking to "dissident" republican terrorists. Let's leave aside the fact that the BBC completely ignores Unionist opinion on this (plus ca change) but look at the way the BBC actually posits the debate;

"Author and political activist Eamonn McCann and BBC reporter Peter Taylor debate whether talks could prevent future violence."
Oh, I see. Let's have a chinwag with terrorists and see if we can given them what they want so we can buy them off. It could equally have asked whether talks only encourage these savage killers, but I guess that is not an appropriate approach. It could ask whether the need for talks such that a military strategy would be more effective. It could ask whether once you pay the Danegeld...

But of course, it never will, The BBC is steeped in the sordid gospel of naked appeasement of all forms of terrorism and I find it profoundly nauseating.

THE SAME SEX MARRIAGE OXYMORON

The BBC relentlessly push the Stonewall approved line that homosexual people must be allowed to "marry" in the interests of fairness and "equality". There is such an interview on Today at 8.48am. It's remarkable how the State Broadcaster can blithely dismiss millennia of human experience and instead pursue this radical re-definition of the institute of marriage to accommodate militant gays. It reminds me of the scene from the Life if Brian where Reg (played by Eric Idle) gets upset because he can't have babies. His comrades decide that he has the right to have a baby and all are content. That's exactly where the BBC are and where they demand we must be. It goes without saying that the suggestion that marriage is the union between one man and one women infuriates the BBC. You can guess why.

WHEN DID YOU STOP BEATING YOUR WIFE?

Anyone catch Nick Cosgrove's interview with Sir Philip Green on the business news section of the Today programme this morning. (7.20am) Talk about hostile! Green has been recruited by Cameron to lead a review into government spending and is thus an instant enemy of the BBC and it shows. Rather than stick to topic, Cosgrove kept making comments about Sir Philip's tax status and also his friendship with Naomi Campbell. I don't recall Sir Alan Sugar being quite the same hard ride by the BBC but then again he supports Labour....

You've Been Framed

>> Thursday, August 12, 2010

Aren’t videos brilliant!
They get all sorts of people into hot water, proving that they’ve told a porky pie.
There’s film of the BNP saying things they wish they hadn’t, and politicians too numerous to mention being incontinent with their agendas. Everyone in the public eye is continually being filmed or caught on camera.
There’ s a big downside too. Take Hezbollywood, or the Pallywood industry, fakers of atrocities by trade, whose purpose is to make Israel look even worse than they made it look previously.
But on the other hand, the videos that showed beatings being carried out with great gusto on the Mavi Marmara might turn out to be quite handy if they’re admissible as evidence.
Awkward too is the video that shows the Arab Israeli Knesset member Hanin Zuabi doing what she swore she didn’t, namely witnessing certain preparations she pretended she hadn’t, and almost willing another martyrdom; someone else’s, not her own.
But the BBC’s favourite spokesperson for righteousness, charitable good works, helping the Palestinians, and making Israel look even worse than he made it look previously has also been caught out being economical with the actuality.

Christopher Gunness always says UNWRA schools and childrens’ camps are non political. But he’s a liar. Hoist by his own self promotion.

Amnesty With Attitude

The powerful Jewish lobby hasn’t been controlling the media very well recently. A legal amnesty on criminal activities appears to have crept in, unnoticed by the MSM. Not all criminal activities qualify, before you go out a-lootin’ and a-pillagin’. Only ones that are for the noble cause of delegitimising Israel. Specially if his honour the judge happens to have strong feelings, as was the case with His Honour George Bathurst-Norman; and now another judge has jumped on the bandwagon and acquitted another bunch of rowdies. Their antics have been disrupting trade in Covent Garden’s Ahava store and surrounding shops because Ahava is Israeli owned, and some of its products are from the West Bank.

“The activists insisted that they were legally justified in their actions as they claim the shop’s activities are illegal because the products on sale in the shop originate from Mitzpe Shalem, an Israeli settlement on the West Bank and are deliberately mislabeled as “made in Israel”.
Wham Bam Acquitted!

The BBC doesn’t report this case, but as they reported the outcome of the Brighton factory trial without mentioning the judge’s emotional instructions to the jury, but showed instead a video of the vandals’ joy at their acquittal, it was clear that they didn’t think upholding the law was necessary. With the proviso that it’s all for a good cause, of course.

STING IN THE TAIL?

Hold the front page! Richard Black has told Anthony Watts that he is correcting a story in which - using all his scientific brilliance - he told the world that rice yields are falling "because of global warming". The reality is that over the past few decades rice yields have grown hugely thanks mainly to brilliant agricultural scientists who understand the relationship between optimum plant breeding, soils, temperature, irrigation and growth. Mr Black plainly did not read the press release and he got completely the wrong end of the stick, presenting - as usual - warmist twaddle. It will, of course, be interesting to read what Mr Black has to say and I welcome his willingness to acknowledge his error. But, call me a cynic, I am expecting a sting in the tail...especially in view of what Bishop Hill calls Mr Black's "slack-jawed" acceptance of the alarmist narrative being applied to biodiversity. Is this the BBC's latest crusade? Mr Black has certainly got form, in this area.

BBC Broadcasts Useful Programme!

Some interesting and appreciative articles and comments about the John Sweeny programme “Useful Idiots” .

ANY VOLUNTEERS?

Question; Is there anybody out there who would be prepared to go on Sunday Morning Live (via video link) this Sunday who would take a similar line to me re Gitmo and Mr Khadr, the 15yrs in Gitmo who whines he was tortured? Email me straightaway if you are prepared to go on!

SIDDIQUE WATCH

Hey, who would have guessed it but Mona Siddique, Professor of Islamic Studies and Director for the Study of Islam, was back on Thought for the Day this morning! You will recall I mentioned the frequency of her appearances but last week and now she is back on again talking about the Religion of Peace. It's almost as if the person who controls religious output on the BBC has a pro-Muslim tendency....

WE'RE DOOMED!

Warmists have been at it for at least a decade: publishing dire predictions that heatwaves are going to kill us by thousand, we'll all drop like flies as the mercury rises. Here's CNN in 2000. And here's the BBC yesterday. Note the similarities, the same strident language, the same 'we are all doomed' rhetoric. Like a cracked record.. When I see this statistical hogwash - which comes from the school where if you pay people to find a problem, they will find it - I ask if heat is such a problem, why do Brits flock to Greece and Florida and Spain every year? And why does California continue to grow? Is it so those involved will increase their chance of a heart attack? Er, I don't think so.

BBC DOUBLE HEADER

>> Wednesday, August 11, 2010

Attention all Biased BBC readers, I seek your thoughts!

I'll be on the BBC twice in the next few days discussing several subjects and I would value your opinions/thoughts.

I'm on the Nolan Show tomorrow morning (BBC NI) debating whether civil partnerships (a non religious secular invention) should be permitted on religious premises. The law says they should, I say the law is an ass, they should not, what say you?

Then, on Sunday, I will be on the BBC Sunday Live programme presented by Susanna Reid! The topic I have been asked to cover is Guantanamo Bay and in particular the fact that there is a 23 year old in it, Omar Kadr, who was 15 when captured. Is this right? Should 15 year olds be in Gitmo? (Yes, of course) Young Omar killed a US sergeant by throwing a hand grenade at him but...waaaugh... he was ONLY 15, and then he alleges he was tortured. I take a very straight view on this. He's lucky to be alive given his crime, he SHOULD be behind bars, I dismiss his allegations of torture (all unproven) and this is just one more poster boy for the left who hate the idea that we fight Islamic terrorists! Your views please? Never done the Sunday Live show so time for some straight talking...hope you can provide some interesting thoughts for me.

"Suspicious Packages"

I wonder if the BBC's coverage of the Ground Zero mosque (coming soon from Kiera Feldman) will include an interview with Greg Gutfeld about his plans to promote dialogue and outreach next door?

(Some more bar names here, if you're interested.)
