Blackmailing America. 911 attack, part II: trafficking/profiting in the pain of a nation. As the obvious ultimate insult becomes more painful, and the polls overwhelmingly oppose the Ground Zero mosque, thug developerSharif El Gamal et al are dictating the terms (the booty) for taking Ground Zero hostage with an Islamic supremacist mosque on the site of the 911 attack. Geraldo Rivera (the clownish messenger) is on O'Reilly, showing off that he is on the inside with Muslims in the know, wink, wink, nod nod, as a compromise is being hammered out with these stealth jihadists. According to Geraldo's inside jizz, a "major [Muslim] 'civil rights activist' close to the prime developer" -- (uh, can you say Hamas-linked,Muslim Brotherhood proxy?) dictates the terms as follows. Exploiting 911. Ugh. It is galling that we the taxpayers are going to pay a jizya for this stealth jihadist to do the decent and moral thing. Apparently this crew is capable of neither decency nor morality. It is tempting to want to negotiate this terrible "attack" away, but it's like negotiating with terrorists. It will set a very bad precedent -- city funded mosques or state sponsored Islam. This is wrong. They are wrong. They should not be rewarded. The taxpayer should not pay this ransom. "Jiyza: From the point of view of the Muslim rulers, jizya was a material proof of the non-Muslims' acceptance of subjection to the state and its laws, 'just as for the inhabitants it was a concrete continuation of the taxes paid to earlier regimes.'"[6]] Posted by Pamela Geller on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 08:59 PM | Permalink | Comments (137) ShareThis Reblog (0) | | Digg This | Save to del.icio.us | Tweet This! Geller writes for an Israeli media network based in the occupied territories that is the voice of the Jewish settler movement.................. They just make stuff up. I do? I don't even know what they are talking about, but I would love to write for an Israeli media network -- please point the way! The whole piece is ridiculous. Pamela Geller is on a mission to save the free world and she's doing it, on this occasion, in a bikini as she writhes around in the sea. "Here I am in my chador, my burka," Geller jokes to the camera in one of a string of video blogs campaigning against Islamic"world domination" shortly before kicking back in the waves. "There is a serious reality check desperately needed here inAmerica and I'm here to give it to you, but I'm just not ginormous enough. What can I say? And on that note I'm going to go swimming in the ocean, and visit my mama, and fight for the free world." This strange performance might suggest that Geller is a figure consigned to the margins of the widening and increasingly heated debate about the role of Muslims in America. Far from it. The bikini is back! 400 vlogs and the sticky fingered smear machine can't stop watching the ocean vlog -- I hope they listen with the sound on. It is comedy. But while Geller has inserted herself into mainstream politics in America, she has also aligned herself with far-right causes across the globe including the English Defence League in Britain, white supremacists in South Africa and Serbian war criminals. Yes, I stand with the EDL, the Serbs, and against the genocide in South Africa .......... The genocidal Guardian -- nice work, goosesteppers. They hit Spencer, John Jay, and anyone who has anything to do with me. And that's the point, isn't it? Radioactive Atlas ....... who will dare to stand with me? Spencer, who describes himself as a consultant to the US military, the FBI and the government's joint terrorism taskforce, is the author of several books, including Stealth Jihad: How Radical Islam is Subverting America without Guns or Bombs. He also runs a high-profile website, Jihad Watch, which helped raise some of the tens of thousands of dollars to pay for the New York bus poster campaign. Together the pair launched several organisations including the FDI, which says it is fighting "specific Islamic supremacist initiatives in American cities" and hunting down "infiltrators of our federal agencies", Can you see Robert and me "on the hunt?" I think this is the sweetest, dearest, greatest thing evuh written about my work. *Looking this over, it’s remarkable how much this woman is the personification of what blogging was supposed to be all about in the first place. The one-woman operation, the lonely but brave voice of the committed pamphleteer, the stories no one else would touch, the social networking and the virality, the persistent attacks on the credibility of mainstream media, the opposition to the party in power, the low or zero-budget, the demolition of barriers to entry, the passionate conviction, the tireless energy, the long-tail sentiments finally getting their airing after years of repression by the lamestream: Pamela Geller is pretty much where that was all at. *Probably, the geeks writing blogging software twelve years ago didn’t figure that our Pamela would be the type of gal to really pick that stuff up and deploy it on the national stage, but hey, a technology doesn’t play favorites; even the rightwing feminist AynRandian street can find its own cogent uses for things. The book title in America was What's Right with Islam is What's Right with America, but in Malaysia and the Muslim world the title was A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of post 9/11 America. Consider that for a moment. From the "rubble" -- one could hardly call the human remains of 3,000 slaughtered people "rubble." It is void of humanity or remorse. Worse still, from the pile of human remains, "Islamic Dawah in post 911 America." Da‘wah means literally "issuing a summons" or "making an invitation," being the active participle of a verb meaning variously "to summon, to invite." So here again, not only is Rauf's honesty in question, but his motives. The title of his book, his desire of sharia compliance makes plain his motive. His book title in Arabic and the deception of the English title is Islamic propaganda worthy of Goebbels. More deception here, via PJM: On March 24, 2010, Abdul Rauf is quoted in an article in Arabic for the website Rights4All entitled “The Most Prominent Imam in New York: ‘I Do Not Believe in Religious Dialogue.’” In the article, the imam said the following of the “religious dialogue” and “interweaving into the mainstream society” that he so solemnly seems to advocate in the Daily News and elsewhere: This phrase is inaccurate. Religious dialogue as customarily understood is a set of events with discussions in large hotels that result in nothing. Religions do not dialogue and dialogue is not present in the attitudes of the followers, regardless of beingMuslim or Christian. The image of Muslims in the West is complex which needs to be remedied. [..] More recently — in fact on May 26, one day after his Daily News column – Abdul Rauf appeared on the popular Islamic website Hadiyul-Islam with even more disturbing opinions. That’s the same website where, ironically enough, a fatwa was simultaneously being issued forbidding a Muslim to sell land to a Christian, because the Christian wanted to build a church on it. In his interview on Hadiyul-Islam by Sa’da Abdul Maksoud, Abdul Rauf was asked his views on Shariah (Islamic religious law) and the Islamic state. He responded: Throughout my discussions with contemporary Muslim theologians, it is clear an Islamic state can be established in more then just a single form or mold. It can be established through a kingdom or a democracy. The important issue is to establish the general fundamentals of Shariah that are required to govern. It is known that there are sets of standards that are accepted by [Muslim] scholars to organize the relationshipsbetween government and the governed. [emphasis added]
The "Cordoba" House (Cordoba symbolic of Islamic victory over the West) is clearly a triumphal mosque. It is Rauf's flag of conquest from the "rubble" of the most heinous Islamic attack on the USA. The Caliphate of Cordoba, Mecca on the Hudson. UPDATE: Chip's sagacious observation in the comment section; The idea is to establish a giant and unprecedented modern mosque with all the benefits of a spa and club to attract new converts to Islam. The capacity is to encourage New Yorkers to revert (their term) to Islam. Capacity suggests a bright future for Islam in the US. The media has its marching orders. No "Ground Zero Mosque" when referring to the Ground Zero mosque. AP DIRECTIVE ISSUED TODAY: AP Standards Center issues staff advisory on covering New York City mosque
RS McCain called it: The Associated (Orwellian) Press This is not new. This is journalistic practice. Back in January, I wrote this piece for big Journalism: The Society of Professional Journalists: Why We Never Get the Straight Story on Islamic Jihad In case you’ve ever wondered why you never got the straight story on Islam directly after Sept. 11, and still haven’t, and why the media seems in the tank for jihad, here’s a clue. The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) issued this directive a couple of weeks after 9/11; for sheer propaganda, their “Diversity Guidelines” are hard to beat. In fact, the enemy who attacked our country in an attempt to bring it down may just as well have been writing the narrative. The “guidelines,” adopted at the Society’s national convention on October 6, 2001, urges journalists to “take steps against racial profiling in their coverage of the war on terrorism and to reaffirm their commitment to use language that is informative and not inflammatory.” How? Among other things: Seek out people from a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds when photographing Americans mourning those lost in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Seek truth through a variety of voices and perspectives that help audiences understand the complexities of the events in Pennsylvania, New York City and Washington, D.C. Seek out experts on military strategies, public safety, diplomacy, economics and other pertinent topics who run the spectrum of race, class, gender and geography. Regularly seek out a variety of perspectives for your opinion pieces. Check your coverage against the five Maynard Institute for Journalism Education fault lines of race and ethnicity, class, geography, gender and generation. Translation: even if the horror, murder and bloodshed of jihad are inflammatory, don’t tell the people. There’s more. To deflect attention away from the Islamic character of jihad, reporters should “portray Muslims, Arabs and Middle Eastern and South Asian Americans in the richness of their diverse experiences.” Portray the beheaders, the homicide bombers, and the infiltrators in the “richness of their diverse experience”? You mean the stonings, amputations, sharia law, clitorectomies, Jew-hatred, Hindu-hatred, the brutal conquests of India and Persia, the caliphate? Of course not! Journalists should “make an extra effort to include olive-complexioned and darker men and women, Sikhs, Muslims and devout religious people of all types in arts, business, society columns and all other news and feature coverage, not just stories about the crisis.” In other words, make an extra effort to depict Muslims not engaged in jihad. Above all, don’t talk about the Islamic aspect of terror attacks, especially right after they happen: Avoid using terms such as ‘jihad’ unless you are certain of their precise meaning and include the context when they are used in quotations. The basic meaning of ‘jihad’ is to exert oneself for the good of Islam and to better oneself…Avoid using word combinations such as ‘Islamic terrorist’ or ‘Muslim extremist’ that are misleading because they link whole religions to criminal activity. Be specific: Alternate choices, depending on context, include ‘Al Qaeda terrorists’ or, to describe the broad range of groups involved in Islamic politics, ‘political Islamists.’ Do not use religious characterizations as shorthand when geographic, political, socioeconomic or other distinctions might be more accurate.” Who cares if the jihadis call themselves Muslims and say they’re fighting for Islam? Celebrate diversity! The SPJ continues: “Do not represent Arab Americans and Muslims as monolithic groups. Avoid conveying the impression that all Arab Americans and Muslims wear traditional clothing.” And “when describing Islam,” the guidelines continue, “keep in mind there are large populations of Muslims around the world, including in Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, India and the United States. Distinguish between various Muslim states; do not lump them together as in constructions such as ‘the fury of the Muslim world.’” The “Islamic world” does. The ummah – a word you often hear in Muslim discourse — is the worldwide community of Muslims, regardless of national origin. Instead, journalists should focus on largely imaginary backlash: “cover the victims of harassment, murder and other hate crimes as thoroughly as you cover the victims of overt terrorist attacks.” And so the media dutifully covered the bogus tales of “harassment” just days after 3,000 Americans were brutally murdered by Muslims on our own soil. The same thing happened after the Fort Hood massacre. The SPJ is telling journalists to throw Americans under the bus and kiss the adherents to the Islamic ideology that murdered our people and want to take over this country. Then, of course, they reach for the cheap moral equivalent: “When writing about terrorism, remember to include white supremacist, radical anti-abortionists and other groups with a history of such activity.” There aren’t any — except maybe three in an outhouse somewhere in Appalachia. But not to worry: make it up, or pull the Unabomber out of your hat, andTimothy McVeigh while you’re at it, too. Just how long has the Muslim Brotherhood been strategizing the takedown and take over of the U.S. and the West? Decades. And while we have no coherent strategy for fighting the enemy — hell, we can’t even name them — they have a war plan that is so detailed and exact that every t is crossed and every i dotted. That we are not fighting back effectively is, in large part, because the Society of Professional Journalists is doing its best to make sure no one knows there is a war on. As Osama bin Laden himself said in 1998: On that basis, and in compliance with God’s order, we issue the following fatwa to all Muslims: The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies — civilians and military — is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque [Mecca] from their grip, and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of Almighty God, “and fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together,” and “fight them until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God.” We — with God’s help — call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it. We also call on Muslim ulema, leaders, youths, and soldiers to launch the raid on Satan’s U.S. troops and the devil’s supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them so that they may learn a lesson. I love this country. I L-O-V-E it. The greatest country evuh. Gd bless America. (Hat tip Atlas readers) Michelle Boorstein of the Washington Post has changed her sophomoric hit piece headline from "In flap over mosque near Ground Zero, conservative writers gaining influence" to "The pens of anti-Muslim conservatives impact N.Y.C. mosque debate mightily." She has used this incendiary language, i.e., "anti-Muslim," before (here). She is not only stupid, but dangerous. I am not anti-Muslim. This is a slanderous lie. I love people. All people. Anyone who knows my work, knows me. I am against the ideology that inspires jihad. I am against the sharia. I am against gender apartheid, misogyny, etc. The reckless and malicious "reportage" of this "religion" reporter is bordering on criminality. Having interviewed with Boorstein at length, hersilly propaganda piece reflects none of the interview I conducted with her. In my conversation with her, she showed herself to be woefully ignorant on her niche, the religion beat. I found it astounding that a "religion" reporter from the venerable (ahem) Washington Post knew little to nothing of her subject matter. She knew nothing of the sharia, apostasy, the threat doctrine, gender apartheid, abrogation........... Spencer wrote about the wild bore piece here. He wrote to Boorstein (see below) and I only mentioned her silly smear here, in passing. It was so bad it was hardly worthy of a fisk. But I digress. Much thanks to Robert for the letter. I encourage readers to write and cc law enforcement. She obviously knows little of the threat doctrine, or this silly woman wouldn't write such irresponsible and dangerous headlines. Typical reaction when jihadists are provoked

Unemployment at historic levels, taxation without representation at post-revolutionary historic highs, a failing economy, nationalization of health care, impending nationalization of energy, abandonment of America's founding principle -- individual rights -- and now this. US taxpayer dollars are funding the Ground Zero stealth imam's Mideast mega-mosque fund raising tour. The left will say, Bush did it too! I love when the BDSers evoke Bush. Well, that Bush policy was wrongheaded and clueless (and still is, as is made painfully clear by this outrage). And the Bush economy was fabulous. No small distinction. Raising hackles nationwide................ WASHINGTON (AP) - American taxpayers will pay the imam behind plans for a mosque near the Manhattan site of the Sept. 11 attacks $3,000 in fees for a three-nation outreach trip to the Middle East that will cost roughly $16,000, the State Department said Wednesday. The department said Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf will get a daily $200 honorarium for the 15-day tour to Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, which is intended to promote religious tolerance. Airfare is included, as well as the standard federal government per diem for expenses and lodging in each of the cities he will visit, spokesman P.J. Crowley said. Those per diem rates range from nearly $400 to nearly $500, according to official documents. The imam's organization, The Cordoba Initiative, referred questions on the matter to the State Department. Rauf starts his tour Thursday in Bahrain and ends it in the United Arab Emirates Sept. 2. At each stop he is expected to discuss Muslim life in America and promote religious tolerance. He will not be allowed to raise funds for the mosque on the trip, Crowley said. "We have had conversations with the imam to make sure he understands that during these kinds of trips, he's not to engage in any personal business," Crowley told reporters. "He understands that completely." Oh yes, that'll do it, PJ. Has a "wink and a nod monitor" been named? "We value his participation as a religious figure here in the United States who can help people overseas understand the role that religion plays in our society," he said. Pelosi's recent threat to "investigate those opposing the mosque" is indicative of how sick our once-free society has become. Clearly it was directed at those of us who are opposed to the gross offense and humiliation of the Ground Zero Islamic supremacist mosque. But more than that, it is a direct threat to the 70% of Americans vehemently opposed to the Islamic Supremacist mosque. The left, dismissive of the grief and the offense to 911 families and the majority of Americans, is sick in its fierce pursuit to erect the victory mosque. They have even tried to blame me for the natural and logical response to an Islamic supremacist mosque on a building that was part of the attack on 911. It is, essentially, another attack. The Geller hit pieces have been fast and furious and obvious, as if removing any legitimacy from my imprimatur will defuse the pain and anger. Never gonna happen. Here again, the contempt that the left (politicians and media) show for the American people is palpable. Their subjectivity is now completely void of reality. This is the change that America signed on to? Silencing free speech for fear of harassment and oppression by statists, collectivists and Islamic supremacists. We have sunk so far, so fast, it is breathtaking. What is interesting in all this is how irrelevant the media is rendering itself. People are really not listening to them as they shill for enemies and destroyers. I strongly recommend Americans who oppose thug politicians and the neo-stalinism, join us at our rally September 11 at 3pm. Everyone who is anyone on American life will be there. That means you. Lowry in New York Post: Nancy's nefarious conspiracy theory Is Nancy Pelosi making a bid to join Robert Welch, longtime leader of the John Birch Society, as a truly great conspiracy theorist? It would seem only an inspired paranoic could find it so unaccountably strange -- cue the "Twilight Zone" theme music -- that there's a public outcry about a mosque project planned two blocks from Ground Zero that an investigation is in order. But Pelosi senses foul play. "There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some," she told KCBS radio in San Francisco late Tuesday. "And I join those who have called for looking into how this opposition to the mosque is being funded." What everyone else in America sees as a natural reaction against an ill-advised project, Nancy Pelosi sees as . . . Chinatown. Her mental health is fine, of course; it's only her perspective that's warped. She is such a deeply parochial liberal that every time public opinion swings in a direction she dislikes, she can only imagine malign financiers or puppet-masters at work. She famously discounted the Tea Party as an "astroturf" movement, directed by the Republican Party. She couldn't process the idea of a genuine grass-roots revolt against big government. That kind of thing just doesn't happen in San Francisco. If Pelosi were to star in a sci-fi movie, it'd be "The Speaker from Another Planet." Let's indulge Madame Speaker and consider the sources of the mosque controversy. A blogger named Pamela Geller was on the case early. Pelosi might not have heard, but in early 21st century America, it's possible to set up blogs without corporate backing or dead drops of cash from shadowy sources. Next, reporters and columnists for The Post brought a tidal wave of public attention to the project. This is the kind of thing major newspapers do, especially in an area that has been so sensitive and covered so minutely. Then there's the most important Democratic opponent of the project, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. His top backers are MGM Mirage, the casino, and Weitz & Luxenberg, the law firm. After some digging, perhaps Pelosi can find if they've had a subtle, long-term agenda to back the influential Democratic politician most likely to pull the plug on offensive Ground Zero projects. In trying to explain her remarks, Pelosi said we need transparency in the funding of the mosque and in the funding of the opponents. This is bizarro moral equivalence. Transparency is so important in the case of the mosque because of the Saudis' history of backing institutions with radical imams and educational materials. The opponents, in contrast, are simply exercising their First Amendment rights to comment on, and oppose, a controversial project. Thug "developer" of the Islamic supremacist Ground Zero mega-mosque................ Muslim opponent of mosque reports threat CNews OTTAWA - She spoke out against the Ground Zero mosque, now a Canadian Muslim woman says she is being threatened. Raheel Raza, a founding member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, calls the idea of a mosque within 300 metres of Ground Zero “a deliberate provocation.” Last week Raza joined Maureen Basnicki a Canadian widow of 9-11 in attending a meeting about the mosque in New York City. “They were very arrogant. They didn’t answer questions,” Raza told QMI Agency. The meeting was hosted by Daisy Khan, the wife of the Imam promoting the mosque and Sharif El Gamal, the man whose property firm owns the land the mosque is to be built on. Raza says she asked questions about who was financing the building, estimated to cost $100 million, and whether any of the money would come from countries other than the United States. There has been much speculation that the mosque is being funded through Saudi Arabian sources but at the Manhattan meeting Raza said there were no answers. On Monday, back in Toronto, Raza says she received a call on her cellphone from a man who identified as Sharif El Gamal. “His tone was intimidating,” said Raza. “He accused me of 'jumping into’ the meeting he called and then said 'May Allah protect you.’ I was shocked and hung up.” Raza says she took the phone call as a clear threat against her. “Why would I need Allah’s protection?” asked Raza. Raza says El Gamal's tone was threatening and she took the phone call as a clear threat against her, and not as it is sometimes used, as a casual phrase meaning goodbye. Contacted at his New York office El Gamal initially didn’t have much to say. “I’m confused by your phone call,” he said before hanging up. Contacted a second time El Gamal said “There was no phone call made by anybody” before again hanging up the phone to abruptly end the call. Raza insists there was a call, “I saved the number on my cell.” The number on Raza’s cellphone matches that of El Gamal’s Soho Properties offices in New York. The proposal to build a mosque so close to Ground Zero has become a hot political topic in the United States. Mauren Basnicki, who lost her husband Ken in the attacks on the World Trade Center, told QMI Agency she originally had an open mind about the mosque being built so close to the site of the 9-11 attacks, now she is against it. “We all believe in religious tolerance. I don’t think for one minute that this is about religious tolerance,” said Basnicki. Speaking with QMI Agency from her home in Collingwood, Ont., Basnicki says many might be afraid to speak out for fear of being branded as bigoted but to her the location is just insensitive and she’d like to see it move. Here's a woman who, after working for years at Disney, decides to sue Disney to wear the hijab. "Disney is known for its strict dress code, called the Disney Look, which has been in place since 1957." It's stealth, cultural jihad. This is not about hijab, this is about Islamic supremacism and imposing Islam on the secular society. Icons are a favored target. Halal Mickey. Porky Pig's future is looking mighty bleak. A Disneyland Resort hotel employee accused Disney of discrimination for refusing to let her wear a Muslim head scarf at work in public. Imane Boudlal, a restaurant hostess at the Storytellers’ Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel in Downtown Disney, said she has been sent home without pay four times this week after attempting to wear a hijab at work. But Suzi Brown, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman, said Boudlal was offered a behind-the-scenes assignment at the restaurant until a solution could be figured out. Brown denied that the company discriminated against Boudlal. Wednesday afternoon, Boudlal was turned away for the fourth time from her public hostess job after holding a press conference to bring attention to the issue. About 50 supporters — some of whom wore head scarves — followed her to the front of the restaurant, praying and rallying as they waited for an answer and Disney visitors walked by. Boudlal again was told that she could take an assignment out of public view. “I’m not going to accept to work in the back,” said Boudlal, 26, of Anaheim. In the press conference, Boudlal said she believes she was discriminated against because she looks Muslim. Boudlal said she sent a letter to Disney requesting that she be able to wear a head scarf. After they kept delaying a response, she decided to report to work with it. “I’m not here to scare anyone,” she said. “I’m here to do my job.” On Wednesday, Boudlal filed a discrimination complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and a letter demanding back pay from Disney, said Ameena Qazi, an attorney from Council on American-Islamic Relations, which is representing Boudlal. Qazi said she believes that Disney is breaking state and federal laws. “The company values diversity and has a long-standing policy against discrimination of any kind,” said Brown of Disney in the prepared statement. “Ms. Boudlal has worked for the company for more than two years and recently made the request to wear a hijab, and we have been working directly with her on accommodations. In the interim, we offered reasonable accommodations to allow her to work during her scheduled shifts, which she declined.” The hijab issue comes as a national debate brews about a proposed Islamic center near the former World Trade Center site in New York City. Boudlal decided to try wearing the head scarf to work after becoming a U.S. citizen in June and learning about her rights of freedom of religion. Some Muslim women wear a hijab, which covers the hair and neck, as a form of modesty. This isn’t the first time that Disney has faced the hijab issue. In 2004, a former Disney World employee sued the company, saying she was fired for wearing a hijab on the job in Orlando, Fla.. Disney also offered the woman a behind-the-scenes job. Complaints have also been filed about the issue against other high-profile companies, including McDonald’s and Abercrombie and Fitch. Disney is known for its strict dress code, called the Disney Look, which has been in place since 1957. It's a sign of respect for the office of the presidency to allow one's successor to do his best without having to hear carping from his predecessor. But this is a case where Mr. Bush's own party could benefit from a dose of adult supervision. As president, Mr. Bush never stopped making the distinction between Muslims and the terrorists who pervert their religion. As a politician, he understood the value to the Republican Party of reaching out to minorities, including Muslims. A word from Texas right now could offer his would-be heirs a useful lesson. Does WaPo have a handle on how many thousands (perhaps millions) of Muslim clerics they just called perverted? Why is WaPo so worked up to get a 15 story mega mosque built on the site of Ground Zero, in a building partially destroyed by the Islamic attack on that terrible, horrible day? UPDATE: An Atlas reader sent the following remark on the WaPo hit piece, which I won't fisk because the Wild Boarstein was deliberately malicious and mendacious: Her piece is beyond horrible. Truly, it's astonishing that these people are jobs in journalism. They feel no hesitation to speak about what they know nothing about. They're like adolescents frozen in time. Would that they didn't influence public opinion. 400 Atlas Vlogs and she can't take her eyes off a 2006 bikini Vlog (still love the content of that Vlog -- which this boar never addressed.) After successfully fighting and winning against the embargo on 911 images enforced by a sharia happy MTA (under Bloomberg), the FDI/SIOA Ground Zero bus campaign finally hit the streets, after a month of wrangling. It asks the essential question, "Why there?" The banning of 911 images deserves serious examination. The whitewashing of history to "spare the feelings of those directly affected by 911" (weren't we all?) flies in the face of these very same people who advocate for a Ground Zero mosque on the site of a building partially destroyed by the attack. The Crescent News Network, CNN, is framing the narrative in a most disingenuous way. But I am being too kind. John Roberts filled in for Anderson Cooper tonight and did a puff piece on the mosque, while placing the blame for grief stricken and humiliated Americans at the door of moi. It is so condescending and contemptuous of decent American .... as if they don't think for themselves or know their own minds. On second thought, I just described the CNN viewer. Sick. I am surprised they even had me on ........the opening to this segment is crazy. It takes mental contortionism to come up with such a twisted narrative for what is essentially an absence of common decency and compassion. The lack of respect and understanding by the Imam, Daisy and the media is radically intolerant. UPDATE: Unhinged. Check it out.

Back on December 8, 2009, the New York Times ran a puff piece on the proposed Ground Zero mosque at the site of a building hit in the World Trade Center attacks. In that piece the following quote ran: Despite the potential backlash against an Islamic institution opening so close to ground zero, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who already leads prayers and reads from the Koran inside the building, said that the location was one of the project's key selling points. "New York is the capital of the world, and this location close to 9/11 is iconic," said the 61-year-old cleric, who is known for being a longtime critic of radical Islam. Being in a building "where a piece of the wreckage fell," he added, "sends the opposite statement to what happened on 9/11 ... We want to push back against the extremists." I ran the piece back in December, as did a number of other on line journals like this. Now that quote is gone. Poof. The NY Times has since scrubbed this telling remark, "New York is the capital of the world, and this location close to 9/11 is iconic," and the paragraph now reads: The building has no sign that hints at its use as a Muslim prayer space, but these modest beginnings point to a far grander vision: an Islamic center near the city’s most hallowed piece of land that would stand as one of ground zero’s more unexpected and striking neighbors. The location was precisely a key selling point for the group of Muslims who bought the building in July. A presence so close to the World Trade Center, “where a piece of the wreckage fell,” said Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the cleric leading the project, “sends the opposite statement to what happened on 9/11.” “We want to push back against the extremists,” added Imam Feisal, 61. They removed the quote. Why? Posted by Pamela Geller on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 02:20 AM | Permalink | Comments (31) ShareThis Reblog (0) | | Digg This | Save to del.icio.us | Tweet This! The symbolism of the Dome of the Landing Gear is obvious to anyone in the so-called Muslim world (Earth to us). That is, the ones who don't see the Jewish Conspiracy (aka the common Islamic worldview) behind the mosque.

MEDIA MASKS MOSQUE: AP BANS "GROUND ZERO MOSQUE"
Associated Press Deputy Managing Editor for Standards and Production Tom Kent sent the following note to the staff about covering the New York City mosque story:
Aug. 19, 2010
Colleagues,
Here is some guidance on covering the NYC mosque story, with assists from Chad Roedemeier in the NYC bureau and Terry Hunt in Washington:
1. We should continue to avoid the phrase “ground zero mosque” or “mosque at ground zero” on all platforms. (We’ve very rarely used this wording, except in slugs, though we sometimes see other news sources using the term.) The site of the proposed Islamic center and mosque is not at ground zero, but two blocks away in a busy commercial area. We should continue to say it’s “near” ground zero, or two blocks away.
WE WILL CHANGE OUR SLUG ON THIS STORY LATER TODAY from “BC-Ground Zero Mosque” to “BC-NYC Mosque.”
In short headlines, some ways to refer to the project include:
_ mosque 2 blocks from WTC site
_ Muslim (or Islamic) center near WTC site
_ mosque near ground zero
_ mosque near WTC site
We can refer to the project as a mosque, or as a proposed Islamic center that includes a mosque.
It may be useful in some stories to note that Muslim prayer services have been held since 2009 in the building that the new project will replace. The proposal is to create a new, larger Islamic community center that would include a mosque, a swimming pool, gym, auditorium and other facilities.GROUND ZERO MUSIC VIDEO: "SALT IN THE WOUND"
WASHINGTON POST HEADLINE INCITES VIOLENCE AGAINST GROUND ZERO MOSQUE OPPONENTS
Ms. Boorstein
Your article was silly and stupid enough as it was originally, especially with your misuse of my words about being deliberately provocative at the end, and your lazy repetition of the falsehood that Pamela Geller promoted the idea that Barack Obama is the son of Malcolm X.
But the new headline labeling us "anti-Muslim" is not just silly and stupid; it is malicious, libelous, and dangerous to us personally.
"Anti-Muslim" is a term that Islamic supremacists and their Leftist enablers like to use of people who are fighting for human rights against Sharia -- and it's easy to see why: it frames their opponents as "bigots" and "haters," takes the focus away from their anti-woman, anti-free speech, anti-free thought, anti-equality of rights agenda, and has the added bonus of stirring up their more bloody-minded coreligionists to violence.
And above all, despite the promiscuous Goebbels-style Big-Lie application of the term to Pamela Geller and me by the likes of Honest Ibe Hooper of Hamas-linked CAIR and his tool Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, it simply isn't true. I am not "anti-Muslim." I am anti-Sharia, anti-jihad, anti-oppression, anti-terror, and you should be also.
I ask you to have the decency to correct this headline.
