Not any shocking news here, considering the Imam behind the project is about as sheepish looking a wolf can come here in America. His radical views are well documented. See my previous post on him if you missed it.

ABC News reported:

The developers behind the Islamic center planned for a site near Ground Zero won’t rule out accepting financing from the Mideast — including from Saudi Arabia and Iran — as they begin searching for $100 million needed to build the project.

[...]Sultan said it would take three to six months to establish a plan on how to raise the needed capital. He said any fundraising campaign would begin domestically, but he would not comment on whether it would extend overseas or to foreign governments.

“We’ll look at all available options within the United States to start. We’re hoping to fund this predominately from domestic donors. That can be everything from institutions all the way down to personal [contributors,]” said Sultan.

When asked if they would then turn to foreign donors, Sultan replied, “I can’t comment on that.”

Pressed on whether the developers were willilng rule out accepting donations from the governments of Saudi Arabia or Iran, he repeated, “I can’t comment on that.”

[CH] Saudi Arabia or Iran could also donate to other mosques in the US, who could then turn around and donate the money to the Ground Zero Mosque

Greek Orthodox leaders trying to rebuild the only church destroyed in the Sept. 11 terror attacks expressed shock this week after learning, via Fox News, that government officials had killed a deal to relocate the church.

The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, once a tiny, four-story building in the shadows of lower Manhattan, was destroyed in 2001 by one of the falling World Trade Center towers. Nobody from the church was hurt in the attack, but the congregation has, for the past eight years, been trying to rebuild its house of worship. …

Confronted with the Port Authority’s verdict, Father Mark Arey, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, said it’s the first he’s heard that.

“Negotiations did break off last year. We were expecting to hear from their lawyers — we never did. We’re still expecting to hear from them,” he told Fox News. “We’re disappointed. … 130 Liberty Street was promised to us.”

The government didn’t even have the class to let them know first. Instead they find out 2nd hand. And of course this REAKS of hypocrisy of the government which says they want to promote religious diversity but won’t allow this church to be rebuilt that was crushed at the hands of blood thirsty, west hating Islamic terrorists. Where are you Mayor Bloomberg????

Maybe if they converted it into a mosque Mayor Bloomberg would come out in support of its rebuilding.
