The Media’s Blatant Anti-Israel Bias
Laura: The skunks in the leftist media were caught red-handed. They refused to report a story about the PA arresting university lecturers but when told a false story about Israeli authorities turning down the request of a Palestinian professor to visit Israel with his family, the same media outlets were more than anxious to report the story.
Palestinian Journos Test Big Media’s Double Standards
Backspin
Veteran journalist Khaled Abu Toameh laments Big Media’s lack of interest in a story about the PA arresting several university lecturers. Unable to report the story themselves for fear of retribution, they offered the story to several North American and European correspondents and editors with more protekzia.
Nothing doing.
Only one foreign journalist agreed to write about the story. His colleagues gave different excuses for turning their backs on the story.
Some said they were concerned about their personal safety should they report a news item...
Israel’s Netanyahu Poised to Take Out Iran’s Nuclear Sites

Netanyahu Poised to…
By: George Will
When Israel declared independence in 1948, it had to use mostly small arms to repel attacks by six Arab armies. Today, however, Israel feels, and is, more menaced than it was then, or has been since. Hence the potentially world-shaking decision that will be made here, probably within two years.
To understand the man who will make it, begin with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s belief that stopping Iran’s nuclear weapons program is integral to stopping the worldwide campaign to reverse 1948. It is, he says, a campaign to “put the Jew back to the status of a being that couldn’t defend himself — a perfect victim.”
Today’s Middle East, he says, reflects two developments. One is the rise of Iran and militant Islam since the 1979 revolution, which led to...

US M.E policy needs a reset
By Ted Belman *
The Iraq Study Group issued its report in late 2006 in which it recommended gradual withdrawal of US forces by 2008, engagement with Iran and Syria and a renewed focus on solving the Israel/Arab conflict which it believed was “inextricably” linked to Iraq.
Over the years, both Bush and Obama have pursued these recommendations to no avail. Whatever the USD is doing, it is not working. The Obama administration is still arguing that the Israel/Arab conflict must be resolved to make the ME more stable but there is no evidence that such resolution would change anything.. This conflict is not the cause of Iraq’s instability nor is it the motivating factor in Iran’s drive for the bomb or regional hegemony.
Iraq
According to the Whitehouse. “Starting in September, the number of U.S. troops in Iraq will be 50,000 — almost a third of the total number there when Obama took office in January 2009, the White House says. There will be 96,000 U.S. troops on the...

A week before what is arguably the most lucrative and religiously important event in the Christian calendar, hundreds of Christians in a small Greek town turned out in the winter cold to express support for their Jewish neighbors
Turkey’s islamization was inevitable
Andy Bostom has posted a very interesting article namely
Evidently an Israeli academic saw Turkish islamization coming forty years ago. In part because its inherent in Islam.
What follows are a series of extracts from Uriel Heyd’s March 28, 1968 lecture, “Revival of Islam in Modern Turkey,” at the dedication ceremony for the Eliyahu Elath Chair of The History of the Muslim Peoples.
As far as nevertheless there was resistance to the changes, it was checked by Mustafa Kemal’s authoritarian regime and in a few cases, such as the Kurdish rebellion of 1925, suppressed by draconian countermeasures.
When Ataturk died in 1938, many people believed that he had not only succeeded in transforming Turkey into a modern secular state but that Islam was doomed as a vital force in Turkish social and cultural life. It soon, however, became manifest that this...

Israel through (genuinely) Liberal Eyes
T. Belman. I took the trouble to read Yoram Hazony’s essay and was well rewarded for my efforts. Its brilliant There can be no understanding of Israel’s present predicament without a full understanding of what Hazony has to say. Boiled down, he says that the Liberal who grew up in nation states has decided that they lead to Auschwitz. Thus the Liberal abandons the paradigm of a world made up of nation states and relinguishes his countries statehood for a higher moral order namely, world government. Just as an individual in a nation state submits to the power of the state, a nation state must submit to the power of a World Government.
According to this paradigm, Israel is nationalist Germany heading for Auschwitz. So Israel’s defense of her nation state is not acceptable. She must abandon her nation state. Therefore Zionism is the enemy of the new world order and it is the enemy of Zionism and Israel. The facts are irrelevant. Only the new paradigm matters.
