“The only reason Bibi would place Israel’s relationship with America in total jeopardy is if he thinks that Iran represents a threat like the Shoah,” an Israeli official who spends considerable time with the prime minister told me. “In World War II, the Jews had no power to stop Hitler from annihilating us. Six million were slaughtered. Today, 6 million Jews live in Israel, and someone is threatening them with annihilation. But now we have the power to stop them. Bibi knows that this is the choice.” JG For the Obama administration, the prospect of a nuclearized Iran is dismal to contemplate— it would create major new national-security challenges and crush the president’s dream of ending nuclear proliferation. But the view from Jerusalem is still more dire: a nuclearized Iran represents, among other things, a threat to Israel’s very existence. In the gap between Washington’s and Jerusalem’s views of Iran lies the question: who, if anyone, will stop Iran... Laura: Andrew McCarthy explains that it is the doctrine of islam itself which commands hatred and violence against non-muslims. Sharia and jihad are pillars of islam. Contrary to what the liberals proclaim, al qaeda and other jihadist groups are not hijacking a peaceful religion but are carrying out authentic islam. Liberals would like to believe they are intelligent and broad minded and put down conservatives as ignorant bigots for acknoledging the reality about islam, but the liberals are the most uninformed, ignorant narrow-minded people there are. The Tolerant Pose Non-Muslims are barred from entering the cities of Mecca and Medina — not merely barred from building synagogues or churches, but barred, period, because their infidel feet are deemed unfit to touch the ground. This is not an al-Qaeda principle. Nor is it an “Islamist” principle. It is Islam, pure and... The proven superiority of the Judeo-Christian world over the fundamentalist Islamic world Here is how Saudi Arabia, the owner of Mecca and therefore the heart of Islam, uses what passes for medical science. It is admittedly to the credit of one of the hospitals that was asked to do this refused. A Saudi judge has asked several hospitals in the country whether they could damage a man’s spinal cord as punishment after he was convicted of attacking another man with a cleaver and paralyzing him, the brother of the victim said yesterday. …one of the hospitals, located in Tabuk, responded that it is possible to damage the spinal cord, but it added that the operation would have to be done at another more-specialized facility. Saudi newspapers reported that a second hospital in the capital of Riyadh declined, saying it could not inflict such harm. This, on the other hand, is what Israel does, thus again proving that one Judeo-Christian is worth any number... Bill Whittle: Ground Zero Mosque Reality Check Click here to view the embedded video. By David Solway, FrontPageMag It’s official America has capitulated and from any honest view, America has not accomplished their stated war aims and mission. Seven years of human and material waste, for what? America took out a controllable tyrant for an uncontrollable worse tyrannical regime which have been handed Iraq and maybe most of the ME on a golden platter. For what? Obama wants Israel gone and Iran is his method for achieving the long sought after final solution… What really pisses me off is that Netanyahu has become his loyal accomplice. America deserves Obama and I guess we deserve BB. Yamit Dusk in Iraq When US-led allied forces invaded Iraq seven years ago, their action raised the hopes and... By Ted Belman Hilary Clinton invited Netanyahu and Abbas to commence direct talks. Both agreed. Where the disagreement comes in is that Netanyahu will proceed on the basis that there are no preconditions including a continued freeze, assuming he hasn’t agreed in private to continue it. The PA on the other hand, gave a conditional acceptance. “The PLO executive committee announces its acceptance of a resumption of direct negotiations with Israel, in accordance with the statement by the international Middle East Quartet and the invitation by the United States,” In effect there is no agreement. The gaps are as wide as ever. The parties will never negotiate a compromise solution. There is little confidence — close to none — on either side that the Obama administration’s goal of reaching a comprehensive deal in one year can be met. Instead, there is a resigned fatalism in the air. Most analysts view the... By Ted Belman In my recent article US M.E, policy needs a reset, I pointed out that US policy has been bested by Iran in all theatres including Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and that Iran is quickly extending its hegemony. I concluded, Not a pretty picture. Continuing the same policies will not avail. Doubling down is not the answer. A reset is needed. The US must debate whether it needs to be engaged in the Middle East or not. It has the option of withdrawing entirely and relying on the oil market to supply it with oil. In the worse case scenario if the ME cuts off oil supply to the US, it would be an act of war and the US would be justified in invading Saudi Arabia and occupying the oil fields. It should expel all Arab workers from the area so that there would be no insurgency and then bring in American workers. This could be problematic as it is rumored that the Saudis could blow up the oil fields and leave them contaminated. The Point of No Return

In his thought-provoking book The Lucifer Principle [1], Harold Bloom, relying on years of zoological research, points out how “a strange thing happens when humans and other animals are cornered by the uncontrollable. Their perceptions shut down, their thoughts grow more clouded, and they have a harder time generating new solutions to their problems.” This kind of syncope can manifest itself in a number of different ways: a feigned lack of interest when presented with a threat, as when a once-dominant ape pretends to focus on a banana peel rather than respond to the challenge mounted by a formidable claimant to his throne, or when a rat frustrated by its powerlessness before an intimidating rival will attack a lesser member of the pack.
These are useful concepts and insights that can help us get a bead on the crucial issues of the day. Nature is of a piece. What goes for the ape and the rat, solacing themselves with avoidance mechanisms...LEAVING IRAQ,……… ANOTHER AMERICAN DEFEAT

A troubling milestone arrived on Thursday when the US withdrew its final combat brigade from Iraq. The remaining 50,000 US forces are charged with advising and training the Iraqi military. President Barack Obama has pledged to withdraw them as well by the end of next year.At start of direct talks: An agreement to disagee
