The right is transparent about its intentions re annexation.

By Ted Belman

Haaretz recently published Endgame in which it set out voices from the right calling for the annexation of J & S. Today they published arch leftist Shlomo Avneiri’s The lie behind the right wing’s truth, only there is no lie. According to this article the right has always wanted this but

It’s just that it hasn’t been easy to openly advocate an explicitly annexationist stance. It has been much easier to speak of our right to the land, of the right of Jews to settle everywhere in the Land of Israel, while ignoring that this involves not only territory, but also people – millions of Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza.

Story continues below…

Speaking of our right to the land is not synonomous with intending annexation. Annexation only became a viable option when a new demographic study put the lie to the left’s assertion that there were 2.5 million Arabs in J & S. In truth there are only 1,4...

The West Should be Grateful to the Jews

Laura: At least there’s someone in the British establishment with a moral compass.

We owe the Jews

Andrew Roberts
National Post

What follows is an edited version of a speech delivered by historian Andrew Roberts to the Friends of Israel Initiative in the British House of Commons on July 19.

From Morocco to Afghanistan, from the Caspian Sea to Aden, the 5.25 million square miles of territory belonging to members of the Arab League is home to over 330 million people, whereas Israel covers only 8,000 square miles, and is home to seven million citizens, one-fifth of whom are Arabs. The Jews of the Holy Land are thus surrounded by hostile states 650 times their size in territory and 60 times their population; yet their last, best hope of ending two millennia of international persecution — the State of Israel — has somehow survived. When during the Second World War, the island of Malta came through three terrible years of bombardment and destruction, it was rightly...

Shields: Were UNIFIL Forces Complicit in Ambushing IDF?

Yamit: There is no doubt in my mind of UNIFIL’s complicity. Israel meaning BB is also complicit in our tepid response. Most of all Bush and Olmert are responsible for the murder of a senior Israeli officer. The silence of the world is deafening, is anyone surprised?

The Hashmonean: In Zion we trust

Damaging Imagery Shows UNIFIL Forces Shielding Lebanese Soldiers Attacking the IDF

The IDF informed UNIFIL UN ’peacekeepers’ of the brush clearing operations which were taking place on the Israeli side of the border with Lebanon in advance. The images clearly show soldiers working with a crane to clear brush. This is how it looked..Light blue capped UNIFIL peacekeepers flying a UN flag appear to be shielding Lebanese soldiers who are prone, aiming automatic weapons & RPGs at the IDF soldiers near the border. The UN forces were supposedly enhanced & put in place by resolution 1701 ending the 2006 war to keep Hezbollah from the border with Israel. They have failed at that mission clearly in general.

So now what is their purpose? Is it to shield the Lebanese Army while it opens up with automatic sniper fire on IDF soldiers in ambush!? Is it to allow...

Obama supports fellow Muslims over and against Israel

“Your tax dollars at work . . . investigating Israel for killing a terrorist. Hmmm . . . where is Bin Laden? Oh yeah, priorities. Who needs to look for that guy when we can get Israel? Hmmm . . . using American resources to look for terrorists who mass-murdered 3,000 Americans is far less important that investigating heroes who freed the world of one of his acolytes. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Ya think they spent this much effort investigating the Times Square Bomber or the Undiebomber before we lucked out and their bombs failed?

Think again. The United Arab Emirates have the last laugh at the Dhimmi State of America.

And that’s a lotta Dubai-loney” DS

OUTRAGE: Obama’s Counterterrorism Agents Pursue Israel Over HAMAS Assassination

By Debbie Schlussel

After the 9/11 attacks, Dubai and the rest of the United Arab Emirates held off FBI investigators for more than six months, refusing to cooperate with their investigations. As you probably know, the hijackers used Dubai...

The smearing of Sarah Palin

By Ted Belman

We know from the JournoList exposes that the leftist media conspired to present Gov Palin in an unflattering light. It all began the day she was named.

Katie Couric, her nemisis, did her part long before the infamous interview. C4P just posted a video of Couric getting ready to introduce Gov Palin to her audience. This is what C4P had to say,

It’s not just what was said by Couric in her discussion of Governor Palin, but also the way CBS framed the narrative of Governor Palin’s life in their story. The script covers moose burgers, her kids, her being a former beauty queen and being on the cover of Vogue.

Sarah Palin was a sitting governor, and at that time, before the Obama campaign and their allies in the press spent months relentlessly smearing her good name, she had the highest approval ratings of any governor in the country. She was also responsible for getting the largest energy project in North American history underway after several decades of...

Enquiry is meant to sweep the matter under the rug

By Ted Belman

When the news that Israel had agreed to the UN inquiry came out, I wrote Flotilla enquiry is not a serious one.

“Source says Israel had no choice but to cooperate with UN flotilla probe, but will set strict guidelines”.”no choice”, why so? What kind of enquiry is it if the guidelines or mandate have not been agreed upon? The arguments put forward in support of this move are far from convincing. Nobody is quoted. Also “the government would not allow the committee to interrogate Israeli officers, civilians, or soldiers”. This suggests to me that the enquiry is politically motivated by all to remove the matter from public discourse. It is not a serious enquiry.

Shortly thereafter Anne Bayefsky wrote President Obama Blackmails Israel at the UN and suggested that it was a serious one.

Now that the terms of the Mandate have been made public, I am proven right.

Belman: Only an attack on Iran can contain her

By Ted Belman

Bret Stephens writing in Commentary makes the case Iran cannot be contained.. The same people who make the case that it can were the ones advocating “engagement”. Engagement has failed and containment will too.

The US had a policy of containment with Sadaam Hussain that cost them $150 billion a year. The US had the advantage of controlling the Iraqi skies. She got the UN to impose sanctions to further control Iraq, all to no avail. $22 billion was siphoned off and used to corrupt everybody. Iraq increased her defiance and finally the US had to invade and get rid of Hussain. So much for containment.

Now all this containment talk regarding Iran is nonsense. Both Bush and Obama are to blame for the failure of the west to contain Iran. Iran has spread its influence to Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan and who knows where else. They didn’t even try. But they did try to prevent Iran from getting the bomb. Even that they...

Lebanon heats up

UNIFIL official: IDF did not enter Lebanon prior to border clash

Milos Strugar tells Army Radio that the UN force receives reports of provocations by Lebanon soldiers against IDF units on a daily basis.

Israel blames U.S., France for arming Lebanon

United States has given Lebanon approximately $400 million over the past year to purchase arms, despite Israel’s objections.

The Israel-Arab Conflict: “Root Causes” and “Red Herrings”

The Context: Restoring Memory

Israel is continuously accused by its detractors of “occupying” Palestinian territory and “usurping” Palestinian land by means of an “expansionary settlement policy.”

“Occupation” and “Settlements” have thus become the buzzwords by which to denote, to decry and defame Israel’s control of the territories across the 1967 armistices lines. This prevailing custom is wildly at odds with the realities that forced Israel to seize these territories in an unequivocal act of self defense against threats of annihilation, in classic preemptive exercise of the right of “anticipatory self defense.”

A 2003 article “Jus ad Bellum: Law Regulating Resort to Force“, published by the American Bar Association, sets out the rather stringent conditions for the legitimate exercise of “anticipatory self defense.” It stipulates that the necessity for...
